Steam store rand support, now with cheaper digital games

So I'm guessing we need to buy while the buying is good. Before the tax monster comes in play.

Previously I would put US$ into my wallet and use it for my purchases. To an extent this acted as a hedge fund against our pathetic currency. Unless I have misread this, this "hedge-fund" approach is now lost :(

The steam sale will be fun, $49.99 (R713) = R489.00 is not bad.

Double Dragon: Neon is R109.00 paid 0.99$ on Saturday:whistle:
Half-life 2 R27.25 :D same price for episode 1 and 2.

I've already had a response from an indie publisher that they'll do everything they can to ensure their currently unavailable games are made available to South Africa. Hopefully the few problem AAA publishers will sort their catalogues out soon too.

Some are cheaper, but some are more expensive.

I haven't noticed a single case of a game becoming more expensive. Where did you see that?

I was really hoping the new games will be reasonably priced. R800 for Fallout 4 is still too expensive. Fallout 4 on Xbox and Playstation is R50 cheaper. How can the physical product, that requires shipping, be cheaper than the digital version?

Wait for it to be get on promotion. For example GTA V which is presently on promotion at R400 is half the Xbox price at R800.

Some of us don't want to wait months for that to happen :(

Because the big stores, Walmart, Gamestop, told the publishers that if the digital versions are cheaper they won't stock their games any more.

That GTA is a good deal, GTA has been an expensive game for a while now with rare to no reductions/specials

Project CARS is more expensive. About R44 more expensive than it was in dollar terms. Maybe look harder.

That's one game out of thousands, you can't seriously expect people to check the price of every single game. :wtf:
