We weren't discussing that package at all.
If you want to compare like that then I am getting 150Gb daytime data for R162.
It rolls over as well.

In absolute terms, maybe not so much, but relatively? Definitely.

AH: R200
Vox: R250 (25% more than AH)
CW: R280 (40% more than AH)

Note: I'm not saying the networks are comparable in any way, I'm simply talking about the price only.
 
This is good news. If I upgrade the account now will it be available since it will be pro-rata for rest of the month?
 
Once again capped customers get the love while us uncapped and business peeps wait for AH to deliver.

What i posted was not a promotion, it's simply their new pricing.

You can get 200gigs for R298 if you add Afrihost+. If their network holds up it's a hell of a deal.
 
Good catching up with the rest there. Now i wonder how performance is going to be eventually as this becomes the norm across all ISPs

Anyone care to explain why ISPs are reluctant to let unused data roll over?

It's been like that for ages and I just want to understand the logic reasoning behind it.

Are they afraid of running into a situation where a lot of customers want to use their unused data at the same time and then wreak havoc on their networks, or is is just too much for the accounting systems to keep track of?

Maybe it has something to do with load balancing. ISP’s want to ensure that they provision sufficient IPC for their customers and if data is stockpiled it could exceed available capacity.
 
If only they would allow EFT payments instead of debit orders.

All existing accounts will be switched over from the 1st of December to the new Capped packages. :)

Money saved by not having to provide capacity for 100% gig usage allows them to lower pricing or offer more gigs for the same money. Roll-over disrupts that.
