Its becoming like COBOL where legacy systems need to be maintained. I would hate to have that kind of a job though.

Not sure what people have against VB.Net - syntax is the only thing that is different between it and C#.
 
Or people who want to run cross platform server deployments.

No no, we have Go, Rust, C, C++ and Python for that. Java is for people who haven't heard of these or got in bed with IBM at some stage and just can't get out of the pit of hell they find themselves in right now :p
