Where to go and what to get

Let me start off by saying_____I don't know what the f I'm doing.
What I do know, or at least have come to realise, is that my Mweb subscription should have been terminated long ago.

Here's my setup:

2Mb ADSL line
Old telkom router connected via LAN cable to pc in study.
4 x laptops connecting wireless
2 x iPads
4 x cell phones

maximum of 4 users using any of these devices at any given time. Data usage, I have no idea.

I would like to have a 6 - 10Mb data line. Should I go uncapped?

Where should I go? Some say crystal, others afrihost, while more recommends Telkom.
And will they give me a router as part of the package?
We pay R560/m now for this ****up

Please guide me in the right direction. Thank you.

Why not first log in to your MWEB portal and check your usage over the last couple of months, that way we at least have a starting point.

Which package from MWEB are you currently using?

How much are you looking to spend, 10Mbps line rental alone is R425 then you have to add your ISP costs.

Hi Dwaas,

It all depends on how much you use and what you planning on using the connection for. If you looking to stream content we would suggest our capped accounts as we've optimised it for streaming. Overall capped accounts are just better and with our capped you get 1000gb of download plus data (12-6am) that you can use for all your downloads.

For R574 a month you can get a 100gb + 1000gb capped account on a 8mbps line.

Finally managed to get login detail from call center today
Tried 10min ago to log in - Login failed

Is there another way to acquire one's data usage for a month?

Should I get another router as well when I make the switch to Crystal or Afrihost ?

I would say go for the maybe 75GB from Afrihost for R149, you can then add Afrihost Plus which doubles your data to 150GB for another R99 and get whichever line speed you want, you can then check if you need more data, if you do you upgrade and if you need less you downgrade.

Sounds about right. I've managed to get usage over last 12 months and the lowest was 39GB whilst highest was 98GB .
