Just ordered one from GearBest. For $23 it was too cheap to ignore.

I ordered it with a Viboton S1 wireless keyboard ($12)

I'm hoping to run Plex, Netflix, Kodi and Showmax on it.

Please share your comments, experience, expectations etc.

My T95m and Rii MX3 should be here on Wednesday. Super excited!:D

Just received the delivery. I was expecting it to take longer from China.

I'll post an update later once it's set up

That was quick I'm also still waiting for mine. Says en-route to Destination Country

If you're like me you'll soon find that any remote for Android is useless, some of the apps (example YouTube) require the mouse pointer to move and select stuff. To this end, my phone is a far better remote as sliding over the screen simulates a mouse :)

Initial impressions:

Interface is responsive enough
Wireless keyboard/mouse is essential
GUI/Launcher is not great
Showmax installed fine, but a "Showmax may not support by this device" message pops up when launched. However, the program continues after that and I was able to watch a trailer (don't have an active account at the moment)
Netflix works after an update, but there was a lip-sync issue and some buffering (possibly because I was on WiFi) - Will test in more depth later

Next to install Plex and official Kodi

The lip-sync issue sounds strange. Thanks for the feedback so far.

It looks like Showmax does not work. I renewed my subscription after verifying that the app install and I could watch trailers, but trying to play actual content just gets stuck trying to load.

Hopefully we can get this working as Showmax was one of the main reasons for getting the device

Ooops. See this thread. Looks like a chip set issue with Showmax.

Looks like the issue I'm having with this box as well.

The V88 is delivered already rooted. I had a look in the build.prop file and the line is not there.

I then checked the DRM info:

It looks like Widevine Modular is not supported. It doesn't mention widevine Classic and there's no option in the Showmax app to switch to compatibility-mode.

How about kodi? Working ok?

It came installed with an modified version of Kodi. I couldn't install the official Kodi in paralel, because it says it's already installed (may be possible after uninstalling the modified version - haven't checked)

Nevertheless, the modified Kodi appears to work fine, though I've spent little time with it thus far. There's a huge bunch of add-ons pre-installed (incl Genesis)

Plex also ran fine.

I also have a roku, and I must say the android interface and apps in general is nowhere near as easy to use. It seems clear the apps where built for touch and you need to constantly scroll around. This could potentially be a problem for the WAF
