MTN hit by voice and data connectivity issues

Don't know what to think any more. We read of the imminent strike, now this. I wonder if the two are linked. Very frustrating. Not even an indication how long this might last, can only mean the problem is yet to be found
 
This morning I got an SMS from MTN:

So I went and did the sim swap to an LTE Sim, as I've been wanting to do this for a while now. But now how do I claim this mysterious 5GB Data Bundle?
 
Mtn data in Amanzimtoti has been terrible for the last 3 months. Dropping constantly. Terrible to game on
