Apple iPhones fail more often than Android smartphones – Study

Very suspect report this and I'm not an apple fan.

I got the impression hardware failures were being reported but referring to the actual study:

Out of the 58 percent of iOS devices that failed, iPhone 6 had the highest failure rate (29 percent), followed by iPhone 6S (23 percent) and iPhone 6S Plus (14 percent).
In analyzing the causes of iPhone performance issues, crashing apps (65 percent), WiFi (11 percent) and headset (4 percent) were found to be the primary culprits.
Despite their tremendous popularity and record-setting growth rates, Snapchat (17 percent), Instagram (14 percent) and Facebook (9 percent) dominated the list of crashing iOS apps.

So glad I got rid of my 6s.

Using my 3 year old broken screen HTC m8 until my new phone arrives and its battery still lasts twice as long as my 6s did.

:crylaugh: surprisingly not a lot of apple fanboys are making a noise about phones but only the android guys. :whistle: (I am an android user) Think everyone on the Margared thread.
 
I've had a Note 4 the last 2 years and can't wait to go back to an iPhone.

It reboots all the time randomly, battery sometimes goes down to zero in an hour, gps is terrible, fingerprint unlock barely works...
 
I'm not surprised. My step-dad's iPhone 5s and 6 were such a mission to help him out with. Couldn't imagine getting an iPhone unless something drastic happened to iOS.

One thing I don't understand though:

How can the worst iOS performer have a 29% failure rate, but the overall iOS failure rate is 58%?
 
Crashing apps 65%? Sounds like they pulled that one out of their arse.

Hardware wise, I can confirm I had issues with my iPhone 6 and my iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 6 the home button gave in. On the 6s plus one of the volume rockers got stuck. Both phones were replaced within a week though.

I think you need to stop masturbating as your eyesight is giving in. From what I can see its only 50% not 65%.
 
Absolute nonsense!! Have used and will continue to use android since v2.3 . But this research is utter BS
 
The main issues iOS device owners faced were not being able to connect to a Wi-Fi network, dropped connections, and incorrect password prompts, stated the report.

The main problems Android device owners faced were camera issues, battery charging problems, touchscreen issues, app crashes, and random reboots.

Um ja - I have an Android phone but I reckon there's a bit of a qualitative difference between the issues reported.

You've got a dud then. Mine has been pretty damn solid - even with all the Samsung bloatware.
 
Maybe Im just lucky but I have never had any of my iphones, android or windows phone needing repair.
As far as Im concerned they are all similar except for the windows phone which had 3 times the battery life of the others.

Windows Phone didn't give apps free reign to do as they please.

Was about to say...through generations of Nokias, Sony Ericssons, Siemens, iMates, multiple iPhone and a recent Windows Phone I have never sent any of them for repair that I can remember.

Also on iOS and Windows phone I haven't have any first party app crashes of regularity that I would call a problem as that's with running multiple Betas.

Third party software however...is exactly that and shouldn't be taken into account for reliability of the first party device.
