WhatsApp does not have a security backdoor – Report

Whatsapp do not have security backdoor. It is implemented so bad, that even tenagers can clone someone else account.

Facebook certainly has full control of it. Since I get random friend suggestions of people I've never met in my life apart from them sending me a WhatsApp

a friend made the same observation - some product /link that was shared on Whatsapp was repeatedly suggested on Facebook

wtf has that got to do with this thread?
They didn't ban Telegram nor Signal, but the banned Whatsapp together with some more, is that answer your question?

Whatsapp do not have security backdoors, maybe, hehe...

The truth is that Whatsapp offer neither security (despite of first grade encryption), nor privacy. It is only the first event, expect more companies to follow...

That's compliance for text message services - no doubt they will eventually ban Telegram and the likes too.

Still has nothing to do with the security backdoor threat in the OP.

They banned it and SMS because they cannot archive it (aka they cannot read it) for compliance reasons.

@Both guys, you are conflicting yourself.

Point out the conflict please, we saying the same thing with different words...
This is boring. First you say that my link is not related, then you change your mind. :(

There is to many controversy related to Whatsapp that everyhing leads to the following events:
Banned messaging systems on the list are WhatsApp, Google Talk and iMessage. All of them share the same feature: lack of security and privacy.

The functionality will be switched off this quarter, chief regulatory officer Sylvie Matherat and chief operating officer Kim Hammonds told staff in a memo on Friday. Unlike e-mails, text messages can’t be archived by the bank, said a person with knowledge of the matter who asked not to be identified discussing internal matters.

The policy also applies to private phones used by employees for work purposes. Communication apps such as WhatsApp, Google Talk, iMessage are also prohibited, the memo said.

This is a press rumour coming from some unidentified person.
Banning Whatsapp and other messaging systems sharing the same issue is a fact.

All Whatsapp messages can be archived when Whatsapp account is cloned, which makes above argument is null and void. If they wanted to archive they would allow only Whatsapp, but they banned Whatsapp, not a Telegram, nor Signal.

What about Messenger? They didn't ban Facebook messenger...
