Telkom’s new Integrated Data Service – All the details

Hmm, I'm on the equivalent of Do Premium (10Mbps + 100GB), wonder if that means I qualify for the 20GB IDS @ R99?
 
im stilll ****ing confused... :(

so if im on a 20mbps line and have a 40GB bundle, does that mean i have to buy an equivalent 40GB bundle for my Integrated Data sim?

Or can i buy any other amount of data irrespective of how much DSL data i have?

I am so bloody confused, so if anybody can explain this to me in simple terms please do. IS the additional IDS amount added? If it is, im cancelling, because i dont want to be billed for something i didnt sign up for, which was previously a free added benefit

also, has anybody noticed, that the 20Mbps + 100GB's data is @ R799?

is that

Voice - R199
20mbps DSL Line - R499
100GB's Data - R269

The above totals R967

however

If you did
Voice - R199
20mbps DSL Line - R499

The above totals only R699 without data

Were does the R799 come in? :erm:

Currently I use only about 5 to 10 gigs of the data so I would've preferred to be able to top up like that. If I paid for it I'd try use it all
 
So can I say get the DO Basic, for R509. (Currently just have the 2 line rentals 354 odd)

And just use a uncapped from another Isp - which I do currently

Then in essence have a 20GB Mobile data for R160 odd ?

but can you decide what amounts to top up the IDS with? If you are on 100 gigs dsl data, can you choose to top up the IDS with 20 gigs? or do you have to top up with the equivalent of the DSL data?

From what i understand is that if you want the service, you have to pay extra according to your existing package.....all that it is - is this :
IDS is available as a failover option, and also allows customers to stay connected while travelling.

“IDS is available at an additional subscription and allows consumers to use their full SoftCap data bundles on either fixed or mobile devices.”

You get a 'do' bundle discount.

So you dont get an additional 100 gigs for the IDS? Its basically paying extra for the privelage of using it on the IDS?
 
Probably not :( I'm already paying 149 for 40 gigs I don't really use all of, now I'm going to pay R299 for 40 gigs I only use 5 of

That's the way I understand it works which is why I'm wondering if Telkom will let you opt for one the smaller IDS offerings. The 2GB I get on my 100GB softcap won't go far if my ADSL goes down ...

Got 3 already :) I use one to stream music, the other in my tablet and one in my usb modem plugged in as standby on my router :). I've streamed movies, YouTube and various other things and still cannot get to 40 gigs on it.

So what if i cancel my 100 gigs, and take a 20GB data bundle? This is very expensive to pay another R269 just so that you can make use of the IDS. Makes no sense.

Make sure you match the 'do bundles' i.e. if you are on a 2mbps line take 20GB and you will qualify for a discount. Then pay R99 extra and you can use 20gb on 3g :)

Eish ok. I'm going to get an extra one, tired of swapping between home modem and work dongle.

Which discounts? Im currently on 20mbps line, with 100 gigs data. My question is, do you have to be on these bundles to make use of the IDS? What if i want to keep my 20mpbs line, but dont want 100 gigs data
