Hello Vodacom P10 Lite users. Got mine yesterday. Just checking to see if any of you have the option of switching on Volte / Vowifi?
Also, do you guys get 4G+ indicator on your phone at all? My previous phone did, but I am not getting it on my new Huawei P10 Lite :(

:(

I could really use these features because at the office the 2g and 3g signal is really poor...but 4g and good and I also have great WiFi. When my customers call me I tend to suffer from bad quality calls and lots of dropped calls. Volte and vowifi would solve it. :(

If you root your phone, there are steps to take to enable VOLTE... but yeah, it should be enabled be default from vodacom for Huawei phones

Also you should log a network problem for vodacom to install a booster at your offices.. :)

Have you tested the rooting and then enabling Volte on a Vodacom supplied P10 Lite and does it work?

I have tried. Were told that Vodacom is in the process of erecting booster towers (I believe those are the ones that looks like lampoles or those funny lookings ones with the bump on top), but that was many months ago. I have suggested a CelFi extender also to the builing owner, but for the amount of users in our office the cost is a bit high.

Hi Ockie
Did you purchase your device from a Vodacom Store? Are you using a Vodacom sim card? If not where did you purchase your device? What is the software version on your device? Is Volte provisioned on your sim card?
Vodacom software does not display the menu option to manually switch on/off Volte nor is the Volte icon displayed on the device's home screen. Volte for Vodacom is switched on by Default.
Kind Regards
Huawei

Hi there. Yes, it is a Vodacom supplied handset with the proper Vodacom firmware on it. Firmware version is WAS-LX1C02B139

I will redo Volte activation on my sim and a manual network sync beginning of next month. I cannot do it now because of the upgrade with package change on the system which will only complete end of the month.

On a Huawei P10 (not Lite). When I was in the country, LTE-A (4G+) worked for me on all networks. WiFi Calling/VoLTE however didn't work on any network, but the menu to activate VoLTE and WiFi Calling appeared with a Telkom sim card in

Hi. I have removed and reactivated volte on my line and did network sync and once done and confirmed rebooted device. Still no volte or vowifi. Running latest B141 Vodacom firmware.

Surely Jannie Van Zyl or one of the Vodacom technical guys can assist? Or maybe Huawei can come to party? Or how about both companies can work together on this issue?!

It seems insane that everyone just says 'Ops. We aren't sure' and it's taken months to get to this point.

I have been asked to visit the Huawei office today with my phone so that they can have a look. Will provide feedback after.

Thanks!

I've been in their Facebook wall and in the end, they blame the network. Would be great if they could see the issue

OK, so I have egg on my face. Guys @ Huawei put their Vodacom sim into my phone and boom .... Volte works flawlessly without them changing any setting or phone software. So, definately some kind of issue where Volte is not activating on Vodacom for my line. They logged it again with Vodacom and a guy from Vodacom phoned me in 5 minutes. He said he simply cannot see anything wrong and according to what he can see, Volte is active. I explained the situation and he logged it through to back office. Now I wait.

Thanks Huawei .....you guys are awesome .... even though I feel rather embarrassed.

But that'd be my line as well then ...

So if it's a Vodacom issue, how do we rectify ?

EDIT : I see, wait ...

It is working!!!!!! Got two more SMS messages this morning regarding network syncs being done. After first one...rebooted and did not work. 30 minutes later I got another sms....rebooted again and now it is working. So...seems network syncing the crap out of my line solved it. Lol

Another nice thing about Volte ..... Truecallers works properly now if you are not connected to a WIFI connection. Previously if I did not have wifi on or if I was busy driving Truecaller would not display the name of the caller because it had to switch down to 3G for the voice call. Now that I have Volte, Truecaller comes up with the name as the phone starts to ring :)

I have to say....it is awesome having Volte now. Call quality is great now when I am at the office (bad 2G and 3G reception, but full 4G signal here) Sound also seems to be more crisp and full. That will depend though I guess on if the other person also has Volte. Main thing was call quality at the office though.

Figured out what the issue was?

So let me confirm, is VoLTE enabled by default on a non rooted Huawei P10 on Vodacom?
I enabled this months ago by calling Vod Cust Service but have never seen the option under settings to confirm..and i still suspect it's not working.
