How about giving us our own sub-forum for AION! :)

This game is pretty old already been out for a year now... We are just getting a release of the game this year though.

Hey peeps,

If you are interrested in joining a South African legion then head on over to www.aionsouthafrica.com

We've just hit 50 members so the local Aion fanbase seems to be growing nicely.

See you all in-game! :D

Does "Ensidia" ring a bell? In case you missed it, here's Lani Blazier's live interview with Kungen & Tjani!
Sounds like Kungen and some of Ensidia will be moving over to Aion from WOW.
Thats a very bold statement :)

Well it is nice to see South Africans finally interested in a NCSoft product!

If you want to buy the AION game, then you will have to wait! You can download it from NCSoft and other sites for free...a 5.8 gig file! This took me 34 hours to do on my Axxess connection! (Took me less than 1 hour at a minimum download speed of 4880kb/s on my USA Server...oh boy!). South African retailers do not want to sell NCSoft products because you can get them free on the net...but that in my view is stupid because very few people can afford to download games between 5 and 9 gigs. The retail price here could be around R299.

I started a private Aion Server using the AionEMU (LEGAL) server software that is still in its puberty stages, but from what I saw in game it is pretty cool so far.
As many of you know, I host 2 private Lineage II servers already and Aion I think will take many younger players away from L2 - which us "old farts" would appreciate :p . Aion Graphics are excellent as in all NCSofts products, but in my view a bit too much like World of Warcraft where L2 is much more realistic.

If you want to check on the Aion progress for free servers...just click on my siggy!

i would love to try aion before buying it. Nutty, is there any possible way to upload it locally? Just cannot afford to download 6gb international :(

As far as i know , the guys at BTgames have copies of the game available.

I bought my copy of AION through BTGames. Wierd Statement saying noone distrubtes NCSOFT games in SA, Guild Wars +Xpacs, CoH etc.etc. all on the shelves.

More importantly since open beta is around the corner and the 1.5 Client is on fileplanet amongst others (all 9.5G of it) anyone want to get it so we can have a local mirror? (http://eu.aiononline.com/uk/news/open-beta-client-now-available-for-download-1.html)

Also, what's the chances of getting a subforum going?

OOO thanks for that update!

Just goes to show...the older you get the less you know :(...maybe alzheimers or I just have not been in the shops for a while!
Darn it...If I had know that it would have been cheaper than buying 10gig of bandwidth extra from Axxess!! Well at least I got the server pack as well :P

Anyone from btgames that can confirm my statement?
What does Aion cost from you guys ?
Normal version
Special Addition available?
Gamecards? (cost and how long is the sub?)

I think I paid R359 for the normal editon. All the CE versions were sold out pretty quick. with the preoder you get you keys and you can go and create you account on NCSOFT. You can then upgrade for $10 to the CE edition. The CE edition has some virtual items etc that aren't purely cosmetic, one of them is the buff to the flight time, but I'm quite sketchy on details.

Looking forward to Aion as a welcome break from Wow.
