I started a private Aion Server using the AionEMU (LEGAL) server software that is still in its puberty stages, but from what I saw in game it is pretty cool so far.
As many of you know, I host 2 private Lineage II servers already and Aion I think will take many younger players away from L2 - which us "old farts" would appreciate :p . Aion Graphics are excellent as in all NCSofts products, but in my view a bit too much like World of Warcraft where L2 is much more realistic.

Nice post but your site is a bit broken, you can’t post anything on your forums and if you want to create a game account it takes you to google. Not a good way to start.
 
Our host had a few hiccups these past 2 days...I will go check on it now. Thanks for pointing this out!

use news servers to download the game. let it update, about 500MB international. Its not just 6GB, its between 8GB and 9GB!
 
To play on the official servers.. yes you need to pay as per the previous post.

However, it won't be long then our private servers will be reasonably functional.

Currently there are around 80 private servers, BUT you can only log in and move around at the moment and see the mobs and NPC's which are correctly spawned as per the Chinese Official Server. Aion EMU are to be giving us a huge update this week, which should include the attack and skills sections.

There is a Russian Server which has customised attack and skill functions working, but not worth it in my view...Aion EMU are doing their best to have their emulator as close to official as possible.. If you want to play for free, then I suggest you wait like we are for the Aion EMU update to arrive :p

No! My servers are in USA and Germany.
The rental price of servers here is ridiculous! My hosting company in Germany has now also opened in the "lucrative" SA market and at DOUBLE their price in Germany and with 2% of their speed!! Grrrrrrrr
 
Stupid questions, but are you gugys playing NOW? Is it Beta that you guys are playing? I Pre-Ordered through BT Games & paid for it. But dont know anything about a Key etc. ?

PLEASE fill me in!

hehe these Romanians are a funny bunch...but I will get him to fix this today!

In answer to the previous post...all private servers are still in Beta Mode and waiting for the official EU English server to come online by which time we will have a reasonably working emulator hopefully.
Its cool that you have bought a disc as this saves the headache of a massive download, but if you are going to play on the official it is "Pay for Play" and if you want to play for Free, you will need to wait like the rest of us :(

You can currently log in to private servers if you have a copy of the Beta Client...the latest version 1.5 you cant as yet.
 
Too bad. Atleast we can try Aion! :D

BTW, I got the Aion Beta client (EU) from BT Games.
I then downloaded the patch from our local www.gaming.do.co.za.
Patch : Aion_Main_1.0.2.10To1.0.2.14.ncp

After I install Aion the launcher does not update with my patch (in the Aion Dir). It wants to update online.

Can anyone help me.. :erm:

If you let it update you will not be able to join a private server at this time, because it will update your Beta Client to rev 1.5 in which case you will need to wait until the EU GameGuard Server is up and running.

Also note, besides the Russians, in all private servers at the moment you can only walk around etc...you cannot fight and talk to NPC. (We are not using the java scripts from the Russians as it is unstable and far removed from anything like what it should be)

You can go to my aion site and download our patch...you simply put this into your aion folder and create a shortcut to it and start the game from there. It basically bypasses the Clients launcher and logs you directly into our server...

Tx man. 1 problem, when I run the Aion_Bonds.exe a splash screen comes up and then I get a "Game Guard" error with gibirish text. Any suggestions?

PS. Aion_Bonds patch was pasted in the Aion game dir on Windows 7:)
 
Yes I am in Durbs..with Beta Client

Griddy...it could be your windows 7 that is giving you that error....
OR your CLient is not 100% Beta
 
can someone tell me where to get a cdkey for the open beta?

Im gonna download the client, but I need a cdkey... :(
 
If you want a CD key then you will need to wait until Aion EU is up and running towards the end of this month.

I therefore would not suggest that you download the Beta Client, instead download the EU/US version and buy your key from NCSoft.
