Torrents download SA sites?

Just got my telkom 1gig ADSL line up and running. Please advise as I am brand new to computers and ADSL.
Does any local SA torrent download sites exist? If so will it effect my bandwidth? Does downloads from local sites have an effect on bandwidth?
All help and advise will be appreciated
 
If yeah than you have uncapped local after your 1GB international.

Torrent Sites:

www.greenlab.co.za
www.bitfarm.co.za

If you download and exeed 1GB before you use up your international, you would be cut off from international sites but you can download as much as you want from those local sites

Newshosts: (Better IMO no need for uploads or seeding and you get full line speeds)

*hint* when asking for torrent site invites, you should promise that you'll share/upload what you've downloaded. ;)

I can't really help you. I used to have an account on Greenlab but i got banned there for bad ratio lol

I really think newshosting is the way to go in this country, check the site out, a lot of stuff is uploaded really fast
 
How do you recombine the files downloaded from the news server using linux?

I have a namber of .rar files and a few .par2 files. Do I first combine all the files(how would I do this) into one or first extract them(BTW extracting them, extracts only empty folders) and then combine them.

I'm with TI and certainly dont have uncapped local. Last I heard the ratio was 10gb local for every 1gb "blended" you buy - has that since been changed?

Apparently it's fully uncapped. Apparently the "10GB local with every 1GB" was only on their website for two days.
 
LOL... Well... I got like 6gb int... so 60 gb local is more then enough... sad thing is that I share all the things i download via p2p's and torrents so i know i don't leach yet, I never seem to get in the cool online places :(

I assume that downloading files from newshost.za.net is local bandwidth. So I can purchase a local only account for relatively cheap.

News server is only a good option if you want all the latest stuff, and not everything is on the news server. So start begging for a invite to a local torrent site :)

Yes local is uncapped with Telkom, don't know for how long though.
