It is amazing to think that in the new regime in South Africa such poor judging of character is used when appointing people into senior positions. Either they are and have never been qualified to do the job, or they have the most checkered past. What is the criteria to be included in the selection pool? I wish I knew...

McBride was injured in a car crash; cause: mechanical failure. He knocked his head, and then became delusional, thus making people around him to believe he was under the influence of alcohol. An eyewitness who tried to help McBride said he could catch a scent of whiskey as he approached the police chief. According to the police spokesperson Ms X, someone at a Christmas party spilled liquor over McBride. X explained that "McBride threatened onlookers with a weapon as he was delusional due to the knock on his head", and not the fact that he didn't want anyone to believe he was under the influence of alcohol. No charges have been placed.
 
His phone has been switched off all day. This guy has been in so many scrapes and scraps, it's a wonder he hasn't been fired. But then we owe him a lot for his galant apartheid days. Those bombs he flung into Magoos Bar and the other places were a very brave thing to do. (Not) Ar*se!

"Relating to the incident, sources have told SABC 1,2,3 News that if they report anything remotely negative about the incident, the government will take back all the priviledges they gave SABC South Africa. However, in a confidential interview, Mcbride's aid said he was actually in the accident because he is currently experiencing a bout of flu, thus the medication he was on, which contains alcohol, made him drowsey and he fell asleep at the wheel. In another report, the president called to wish him and his family a good christmas, and also wanted to asure him that no truth about this matter will see the light of day, as that will be unconstitutional..."

I'm pretty sure that's how it'll be reported (cynical ... who me, naah)

It's heartening to know the "Arrive Alive" campaign is being spearheaded by McBride ... not.

In recent developments, the homeless man in the previous article answered to the name Tony Y. He admitted that he was part of an elaborate cover-up for a friend of his, Jacob Z and another friend called Shabir S. He said that once he sobers up, he will prove that all this confusion is a very detailed covert operation to make sure there is not too much attention on the pace at which taxpayers money is re-directed for travel expenses of the second-in-charge of the country.....at this time, no further information is availible due to the fact that the homeless man fell asleep while talking...

If all else fails, McBride can come up with the excuse that your body is like a child's when you are drunk... more flexible and relaxed. If that fails, he will promote just being thankful for not being dead, even if you are sitting in a wheelchair being spoonfed. He has no f8888g excuse for this move!!!

He could always fall back on zeb's plan: that it was a Boermag plot to spike his drink ... :D
