Hi

Is it possible to dial up 2 PPPoe sessions through 1 Iburst modem. eg. PC dials up a connection and a VOIP ATA dials up another (using the same username)

Regards

No, i don't think the iburst modem supports multiple connections.

And on the iburst side a username can only be used one at a time.

Two users, one account.

Hi Ed
Is this true?...I have two modems, one account.
I use one and the other is used by a colleague, and I cannot recall ever having any connection problems....or is it just luck that we never connect at the same time?

Keep quiet. :D

It is true, officially.
Technically, we don't enforce it. But we will and it would be wrong for me to say that you can.

Is it necessary to do dis-allow this......my account is capped, the only party to lose out by multiple users on one account is the account holder.....his quota will get used up very quickly......to i-burst its all the same.

Hmmm, well if you do we will have a problem.
Approx six months ago i purchased a second modem from iburst and linked it too my current contract after being told by the call center and SG that it was possible and allowed.

Well it is mainly a problem if the user is capped, then two or more people can download as much as they want all at iBurst's expense. But while they are within their usage limit, I don't see why not.

Ed, couldn't you work it somehow that this will only come into effect once users are capped? That would make all users using two UTx's on one account stay within their limit, so you guys win anyway.
