International dead slow?

Been slow for days now. Even gmail battles to download via outlook express. Rebooted modem and router several times.

*sigh*
 
Not using it during daytime, but was playing online last night on UK and German servers. Early was a bitch, but looked a bit more widespread than just MyWi. Later was mostly fine (read : playable, with a bit of lag every one in a while)

If you are on Iburst, what are you even doing on the sentech forum?

I've been online for the last 2 days without incident. Downloads speeds from google.com as well as P2P are normal (20-33kBytes/sec). I'm on the MyWi Classic Prefessional package (256). I'm still fairly new to mywireless and don't know how to get detailed tower info etc. All I know is that I'm connected to tower 60 in Parkwood, JHB.
 
I think it might be my tower. Unfortunately I'm on a router...and the pc's are nowhere near the modem. Will borrow a laptop later to get some USB readings.
 
in life you got to be honest and truthfull. you need to
own up if some product or something in life is wrong.

so just bring out the truth.....
 
iburst 1mbit but 3gb cap and shaping
sentech 256k but 20gb cap and no shaping

both more or less the same price

iburst seems like a good product and I almost went for it. 1mbps speed, reasonable coverage (I think they might have better coverage than Sentech), but the cap posed a SERIOUS problem. It takes me less than a week to exceed 3GB on MyWi. If you really want to play on the net go with MyWi, if all you want is to check email on go then you might try iburst.
 
hey orin, i had iburst for about 2 months before launch and it was great, then launch, capping and shaping so bad. got mywi in may, havent looked back since although i miss the speed here and there. originaly i had 128, but moved up to 256 and all's been good so far. download quite alot, so amount of bandwidth is very good, no shaping, so p2p works fine aswell. could be wrong but 3gig cap with iburst will last round about 6 hours, so...
 
Guys , don't waste your time and bandwidth responding to that lard-a$$ shameless advertiser called Fanta$tic1.
 
face the facts ejbengine.... where the sense of having no shaping and 20gb cap .... when you get pathetic speeds like 3.4 KBps ...
1 you will never reach your cap and WOW :) you call this No Shaping .... cruzin at 3.4KBps wireless ... that's awfully incredibly Super fast in your terms :)

fantastic1, not everybody's speeds are that slow, some guys are having problems, other not. The same goes for iburst, adsl, 3g/hsdpa... If iburst works for you, then so be it.
 
generally a lot of people are having problems with MyWi, they should admit it and do not say it comes with this and with that... when it is actually not reachable with super fast speeds of 3.4Kbps .... and having 20gb cap .. how do you ever intend to reach that cruzin at 3.4 Kbps
 
Fantastic1, you need to also keep in mind that there are three different MyWi packages. 128, 256 and 512 so not all the users on here will have the same type of speed problems.
