Electricity networking for your home

All good and well, but how well will it work while you're getting your daily Eskom loadshedding? :p
 
ok, so how much? where can i buy one, o wait why would i need one since i have my wireless and fixed lan....
 
So an ethernet cable from your router gets plugged into an adapter on a power socket and all the other power plugs are now network capable with an adapter and ethernet cable to various pcs in the office / home? :confused:

More or less, the technology has been around for a long time. Does anybody know where to get this BiPAC 2070 and how much it costs?
 
oooh wow, this has only been around for like a gabizillion years. (ok, maybe a gabizillion is a slight exageration)
 
Okay so what happens to your devices if a power surge goes through the plug?
 
Anyone know if:

all plugs must be on same circuit breaker (we have plugs on different circuits)
additionally, what about different db boards in the home?

I believe it must be on the same circuit board to work. Wont go past you circuit board.
 
Cool/Finally? But, do power surges affect the network? Remember, the ethernet cable is now going from the wall plug to a switch/router. Some UPS's may allow you to plug ethernet in/out which could help solve the problem.
 
No, cos you'll see dis beeg TRANSFORMER in your DB converting the Neighbourhood Sub-Station Power to your local 220V single phase Power.

But .. in a townhouse complex .. things could get interesting ...

ppl stop asking if this thing will survive a powersurge!! Its the first thing you thought of dont you think it'll be the first thing the developer thought of to? Or are you somehow smarter?

My house's electricity as well as the neighbour's electricity comes from the same pole across the street. From the pole it shoots across the street into the green box on sthe sidewalk where my meter is and from there underground into my house's DB board. My neighbour's goes directly from the pole into his house. So where will I find this transformer as it sure isn't in the meter box nor in my db inside the house?
