Awesome! Would like to see how this progresses. It's always impressive when the big guys listen to the public, or at any rate, try to.
 
Prosecute spam authors and give them the death penalty (you'll see, it will stop instantly)

In the same breath people that forward chain e-mails should be told to knock it off. Any and all e-mails that has a PowerPoint slideshow presentation as an attachment should be summarily deleted by the ISP and a final warning should be sent to the offender (warning - see spam authoring above).

And people that send pictures taken with a digital camera via e-mail and who have not reduced the file size (there are a host of little programs that can do this very easily) should be dragged into the street and shot.

There is a special place in Hell for those people. It's called a 9600 baud modem.

Well, since SA politicians like to copy other counties so much (especially Zim & the UK) why not look at THEIR internet policies and implement that. I guarantee it'll work better than the HOV lane they tried from the UK...
 
I think this is a great idea by IS. Unfortunately I see it being used mainly to gain a direct communication channel with their clients and potential clients and for marketing purposes, and I dont expect to see all that many ideas come to fruition or to market for that matter, however I still see it as a very good idea. I stand by my slightly sceptical perspective until proven wrong...
 
ok so lets say i come up with a great idea that will make a lot of ppl in the country happy. what is IS gonna give me a share of the extra profit they make from it? i somehow doubt it.

good idea but not great. as things stand everyone knows what would make the internet in south africa better. unfortunately only the idiots in govt can do anything about it and we all know how well thats gonna work out dont we.
 
How about this.
"Quit fraking around, provide reasonable limitations for accounts that pay more than $50 for your service. Deal with "few abusers" by cutting them off or suggesting to them more comprehensive packages."
Use all available international/local bandwidth channels that are more cost effective than Telkom.

The IS labs site will cater for people who want to turn their idea into a personal business and for those who are too busy to put the effort in and just want someone else to make it happen. If its a personal business idea, speak to us privately and we'll try help as best we can, and make sure that you can profit from it.
