Am in DBN on SAIX and certain local sites are just not loading (NAG forums, Sharksworld and others) along with some international ones. Anybody having probs or know what's cutting?

In Durban on SAIX looks like we don't have any international. This has been going on since last week intermittently. WTF are we paying Telkom for?

Relized the same thing this morning....

Im just happy that MyBB is still working :p

From last night some strange things have (not) been happening. Certain sites just refuses to load - at random. But using a remote proxy those 'dead' sites suddenly loads fine?
On SAIX. Tomshardware.com gives a error (Network Timeout - The server at www.tomshardware.com is taking too long to respond) but loads fine via proxy.

Direct load fails
Tracerting to the site works kind of fine though...

[-]/me blames own PC for now[/-] It is not my PC, other PC does the same thing.

hmm ... /me doesn't feel like mucking about with proxies and what not :o Maybe time to call my ISP and see if they can suggest anything.

I've been having the same problem for the past 2 weeks now too. Certain local sites load fine, Nag, PC Format, YouTube & some paintball sites don't load at all & if they do its partial loads.

I was first told it my Cap, so I bought more, now its happening everyday & for longer periods.

I can't see it being an ISP problem ...... doubt we're all with the same anyway, so I guess that means a nice long wait on Telscums dsl line :o

I have changed my DNS servers - that may be the first problem, but not the last. I use the OpenDNS servers located in London. (They are safe to use - I used them overseas) It is definitely not an ISP problem, but I reckon that of Telkom. Some days I can load some overseas sites, the next day, I am unable to load those exact sites.

Yep, OpenDNS does help at times ;)

I think it's Telkom, because sites load fine via dsl-cache.saix.net proxy. Maybe they are restricting bandwidth to certain IP ranges since del.icio.us and some sites of mine on WebFaction are getting network timeouts. Pings are working are usual.

Remember in SA: Telkom == your ISP if your on ADSL, no matter who bills you.

Well, I'm in Bellville (Cape Town) and had the same problems yesterday. I don't know if it's fixed yet.

Im in CPT and my international is down as of a few hours ago. Local is fine.

arghhhh  ..... NAG was up for 2 mins, now it's gone again. Out of curiousity, are you guys having probs there too?

hmmmm ..... after much refreshing, some sites display but they look awful  Wtf is going on.

having the same problem, sites are loading veeeeeeeeery slowly for me, on a 4mbit SAIX connection in Cape Town

Yip having the exact same prob in Stellenbosch, Cape Town since yesterday.

i am having same problem.....cricket.org dnt wana open...some local sites work, and some not....telkom sucks!!!

same here KZN South Coast.

Times out when connecting.

Same here , Cape winelands region...same thing as last week... down routing to some international locations.

Getting more and more peeved off at this, always used to fut out around lunch time...seems like Telkom / SAIX has a almost permanent network overload between 12-2pm daily ...bottleneck?

And lately it just times out all together ...like today AGAIN.

Curse it all, I'm suffering this same problem here at work. At first I thought it was my proxy server, then I removed OpenDNS servers, rebooted the router and so on. Some sites are still just not opening, and if they do load they look horrible.

I'm suprised the staff haven't said anything.

This is more like the end of month blues we are used to getting, except this is not the end of the month. And worst pasrt is that we can't get onto the SAIX noticeboard anymore to check.

Die Telkom!!!! :mad::mad::mad:
