Same here. Most international sites not loading. Not sure about Local. SAIX.

 Most international not opening, sometimes have to keep refreshing them....GMail and Facebook working fine,All the local ones working fine.Did someone steal the internet???:D

Are the slow speeds and timeouts limited to SAIX accounts?
Does anyone have problems with any IS accounts?

i am in durban and am also experiencing similar problems. any suggestions?

LOL heres something wierd, I open any international site and it will not open....then on a separate tab I open www.google.com and that opens, while thats opening I refresh the other tab with the international site and it opens :D LOL LOL wierd wierd:cool:

It's as if "someone/telkom/guilty party" is placing certain parts of the internet on restricted bandwidth. That's why some time out and some don't.

And everything works if going through the adsl proxy server. Except that's not very nice, and STEAM doesn't work with proxy servers.

ADSL International down

Hi guys anything yet on the international outage at the moment?
I am down in Amanzimtoti South of Durban and have 2 accounts 1 512 mb and the other 4mbps at home and both are doing the same phoned both ISP's and they told me to phone telkom I did that and ofc waited ages for telkom which then told me I must phone my ISP's its their problem and not Telkom which I did and they transfered me to SAIX which told me there are no problems at the moment and that they are transferring me to Telkom ADSL waited 2 hours and got fed up so I phoned my ISP again and they said that there is a problem with overseas cable at the moment but y SAIX's doenst know this is beyond me. What a total waste of a day could have just told me from the beggining it was down

I'm having a similar problem of some pages not working.
I keep getting this error: "Connection Interrupted. The document contains no data.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."
Some pages load after refreshing them a couple of times but only partially(text only). This is really getting irritating

sjoe, i think thats the longest sentence i've ever seen...

Anyway, IS is working fine, but SAIX still doesnt load most sites.
Its weird coz IS uses the sat3 cable for its upstream and satellite for the downstream, so i would assume if its a cable fault then IS would be affected as well...

I am hoping telkom is testing some traffic management software that will replace their current brain dead traffic shaping and caping policy. This only a little bug in system.

I would believe that the issue at hand has to do with Telkom, but in the larger scheme of things, it has something to do with DNS cache poisoning and the update that M$ sent out this past Tuesday - although it is funny that the problem has only cropped up in the last few days. Local sites definitely are loading up fine, but some are not, particularly those that refer to advertising servers that are located overseas.

I reckon that Telkom is the big problem here - they just haven't cottoned on to the damn issue!!!!

According to WA it is a SAIX/Verizon peering problem. One of the links is down or something. :(

I did a check - used the Tor Onion Proxy Network. All sites work well when I use my proxy, when I stop using the proxy - you can't connect to the sites that I have battled with all day long..... Damn you Telkom!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

i wouldn't know as all my traffic comes from http tunnel's high bandwidth servers :)

Strange that no SAIX Notice has been released and that WA didn't publish anything about this on their noticeboard as well. Yet, intl browsing is basically a non-event at the moment.
