I am now so fed up with this and I am unable to access some of my websites hosted overseas. I called Telkom yesterday however they said that the problem lies with my service provider Axxess. I therefore submitted a ticket to Axxess yesterday and they told me it's a SAIX network problem. I submitted yet another ticket to Axxess today and am still awaiting a response since 16-Jul-08 16:03. I have also sent a friendly e-mail to TelkomInternet billing department requesting a refund for the 3 days of down-time of which I was unable to access the majority of international sites. I have also asked for a reasonable explanation of what has caused this problem and that a manager please contact me regarding this.
I have spoken to a lot of my friends who now say that their internet is working just fine, but I am still struggling to access most international sites.
PLEASE JUST FIX THIS, AND TO AXXESS AND TELKOMINTERNET, RESPOND TO MY SUPPORT TICKETS!

I only get that message from the SAIX proxy when I am capped.
no, but I am routing international and local traffic separately on an ubuntu gateway.
wtf. i had no problems until now. i can't even play MGO anymore 
facebook doesn't load. slashdot.org doesn't load. gmail doesn't load. wtf
www.google.com is fine.

Broadband seems to function again as it should: Local sites are quick, International Sites are fairly quick on my 384kbps connection. This was definitely connected to Telscum - they just don't have the balls to admit their failure to provide good service!
Is this without using the saix dns cache proxy?

Without the dns cache proxy.
I use OpenDNS for my needs, with the OpenDNS Updater running. But the difference today from Monday to yesterday is noticeable.

Umm its not just you. I noticed it on Wednesday night. Now International sites are at a crawl & stand still.

This is drucking me friving crazy!!!
Up one minute, down the next, up, then down! IT's been going on for goddam days now and I cannot do much work with this like it is.
It doesn't affect all sites, but mostly international ones. Is this purely some DNS issue? Doesn't feel like it from my side, but Telkom are dumb enough to feck anything up, so I guess its possible.

Funny how everything was fine until about 16h00, then I started struggling with international sites again. Now it seems sorted again.
