iBurst cuts HSDPA 3.6 price

Thanks, but NO thanks.

Heard too many horror stories from their singularly inept accounts department by now to get excited.

"It’s up to twice the speed at the same price. This is the Internet equivalent of the soccer mom swopping her station wagon with the Ferrari enthusiast next door"

...in rush hour traffic.

if it means getting into bed with iburst again, well, NO! ill skip, thanx...

I think forget about giving 3.6 for the price of 1.8. Get the iBursters up to 2mb at least!

iBurst cant do more than 1 meg! That is the bottom line ... the technology is good, but it is slow! (By today's standards). Even in Aus ... iBurst Aus only offer iBurst at 1 meg. The technology was good, and a fantastic alternative to Telkom some 4 years ago, but I am afraid the technology is dead.

Now with all the VodaCom data traffic going over the iBurst infrastructure (and I truly believe that this is the ONLY reason iBurst is still running), the speeds HAVE to be throttled otherwise the VC data network and the iBurst subscribers would have NO SERVICE at all!! (Not that we really would know the diffs!! )

That is why iBurst are now offering all VC's services (and Telkom as part of the BIGGER picture). Daddy saw the opening and gave Notcraig Jr the MD-ship at iBurst with a view of that running the backbone for VC (as said above). Conspiracy ... what conspiracy???

O joy!
I get 4 months reduced charges and then you make it back 5 fold in the remaining 18 months of the contract. Cause you can bet its only available on contract!

Do us a favour and take a hike!

What does speed mean if you just reach your cap faster?

iBurst - true to their name they burst your bubble after the initial period.

I'll stick to amobia thanks.

I would think iBurst are simply reselling Vodacom accounts as an ISP. Are you sure they use their own network for the Vodacom traffic?

It sounds unlikely as only Vodacom actually have connections to the HSDPA towers.

Good morning sir. Today we will only rape you by 5cm. This will ensue for 4 months, thereafter we will go the full 10cm. Bend down and enjoy

You are confused, HSDPA traffic does not travel over any part of WBS' iBurst network infrastructure.

I must admit I miss iBurst. I moved onto ADSL hoping it would save me money and be faster but instead I'm paying R100 more for 3GB at 384kbps which is comparable to iBurst's softcap which was free.
