Anyone know the reason WebAfrica does not offer the IS Semi-Shaped service to their clients.

I know that the WA guys are active on these forums, and hope that 1 of them can give me an answer to this burning question.

Come on WebAfrica, I dont want to have to take my business to OpenWeb after nearly 4 years of being a very happy client.

I would also love for Web Africa to provide IS Fibre Semi-shaped based access :D

Web Africa would have to price it better than Nexus does to win me back though; Nexus has been great and I don't mind staying with them. R500 (vs. R569 at Nexus) for the 10GB account would be enough

Isn't Nexus' Custom DSL offering IS-DSL prepaid? Says unshaped after hours, so I'm guessing?

Unshaped After Hours!
Free SMS notification
DSL Line Lock Access
4 Allowable Sessions
Free Email Account
SAT3 Fibre Bandwidth
Daily Bandwidth Statistics

And:

No monthly fees.
All unused data is carried over each month. When the data reaches zero the account is automatically topped up with a set amount. You are only ever charged when the account is topped up. Topup values range between 500Mb and 10Gb.

yes, I know about the Nexus offering, but I would prefer to remain with WebAfrica if possible.

Hence the the question as to why they do not offer this product.

I've never tried WebAfrica. At one point they were my first choice, but then I was talked into Nexus and have been quite happy since. Although, I'm thinking of trying them out next month.

I'd like to go pre-paid, but not sure who's best... So will dig around ^.^

I have nothing but impeccable service from WebAfrica for the last 4yrs and really would hate to change from them, but if they are not going to be offering the Semi-Shaped packages, then i'll be forced to go to OpenWeb or Nexus

Hi DjStyles,

Due to our newly launched products such as DSL Groups & Mailfire we have not fully explored the semi-shaped option as yet.

Seeing as the demand for this product is increasing we will have a meeting tomorrow morning to discuss the possibilities and choose the best options for WA and our Clients :)

I will update this thread once we have an answer tomorrow.

If anyone needs anything else answered please PM me at [email protected]

Hello,

The jury will be out until the end of the week regarding the IS Semi shaped product offerings from Webafrica.

We want to make sure it is an awesome product before we make a final decision from our side.

I will update this thread before the weekend for you.

Thanks for your patience guys. :)

Krayon.......the fact that people are beging you for it should be proof enough it is an awesome product. I have had it from Nexus ( I wont be touching them again for reasons I wont go into now) and from Openweb. What I want is 24hour support and WebAfrica has that. WA is simply the bomb with one shortcoming: lack of this product offering.

Hurry the hell up and make us happy man. How many companies can boast that people are waiting for them to get a product when they could easily get it NOW from someone else???
