Japanese home customers to get 1Gbps Service

Hmmm . . . My laptop (2005 model), does not even access the hard drive at this speed ! No wonder the japs are there, after all they are the people with the biggest brains around - I bet you did not know that :D

No standard HDD can handle 128MB/s write afaik. To be able to handle those speeds one would need to use RAID. Closest I've seen gets to about 100MB/s. Last time I checked at least. :o

But I think that other factors will limit the speeds they would be able to get out of those 1Gbps lines. eg. Not all internet servers out there is on 1Gbps lines...

But at <R500pm ... :eek: :sick: :cool:

Last time I checked SATA2 could do 3Gbps
