iBurst aims for international award

I don't think the article is complete. It doesn't say who they bribed to get shortlisted.

looking at their competition if i was ibroke i would be freaking out, cause to loose to any of them would be k@k

iBurst is up against Roshan Telecom Development Company (Afghanistan), Safaricom Ltd (Kenya) and Viettel Corporation (Vietnam).

now if only their service in real life didn't suck overpriced.

They want to what?

Maybe the judges need to be given access to the iBurst section on this forum... and to HelloPeter as well...

As Pilgrim said...

They can certainly get the award for the least bandwidth and speed you get in a country. How they got the nomination is a miracle by itself - iBurst and 120kbps - there you go.... far from broadband or any international recognition.

BTW: While waiting for iBurst to sort out their technical issues, I am still sitting at 120kpbs. Site-visit turned out to be uneventful, as my setup could not be any better. Now it's just the long wait for Telkom and ADSL.

Shocking!

With all the various categories there are so many worthy SA companies (at least more worthy than iBurst)... How do you go about nominating a company?

the article doesnt explain how they got 2 b nominated. they not even the best in their own country. the last time i checked they were tied for last (or something like that) with telkom. what am i missing?

The development of Bandwith Theft as well as getting the less informed tired into our rip off contracts

Q2 What are the main characteristics of the developing market in which you operate? How do you meet the specific requirements of the market?
Main characteristics consist of telkom raping the country, we want a piece of the pie. We meet the specific requirements of the market by lying to the consumers and charging them an arm and leg!

We lead by our accounting department and Retentions department, oh and our technical department who knows how to recite BS to the clients.

Q4 What investments have you made in your operation and the market? How do you maintain and improve quality of service?
We expanded with our 100 oversaturated towers countrywide and we maintain the quality of service by continous disconnections of users to ensure bandwith is spread across the board for all users!

I am outraged at this article. How on earth can a bottom-of-the-barrel wireless ISP that is incompetent and greedy get to be nominated for crap like this.

I would like to know who is hosting/giving out this award. I am going to write to them in protest.

My grandmother...

My grandmother does the 100m in 8.2 seconds. No really. They just discriminated against her for being old, that's why she was not at the Olympics.:p

No really, this is jolly unbelievable! Connection problems we have at clients are as following:
1. Daily problems with iBurst. Solution: ADSL.
2. Monthly-3Monthly problems with the E220 HSDPA modem. Solution: ADSL
3. ADSL problems. Solution: Fix the users incompetence.
