Payfast tackles online payments

What's the point though? They don't accept credit cards and are effectively just a middle man for EFTs?

Ok, sicne I have a credit card, this service is pretty much not v useful to me...

Anyway, Its only accepted in SA is my guess so of limited use again.

Someone needs to get Tito and Trevor to relax the Forex controls

I'm all for promoting new South African services, but come on there has to be some kind of standard. Do they expect anyone to take them seriously with a half-arsed site like that?

Thanks, but I deal with international customers so I will stick with setcom.com
They are friendly, fast and clever. I have integrated their payment process to my site backend and it works like a charm (PHP).

perhaps im missing something here, why would you want a third party to handle eft's when clients could perform the eft's themselves?

Fees = 2% + VAT for EFT transactions! + 24 hours holding period! EEEK!
I think they can do better than that dammit!

@server-admins : I am assuming that you (The store) are safe from the usual plethora of "looks like a valid EFT" transactions, like "cash" cheque deposits and other bizzare carp like that the banks claim is our problem and not theirs.
i.e. When they say you've been paid, you've been paid.

Wow. Pretty damn awesome clause that. DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING AT ALL!

credit card fraud is a problem...they call it chargebacks, and it happens about 4 days after the transaction was approved - so usually just after you've sent the purchased materials ;)

In the event that PayFast takes action against you for breach of these terms of use, you agree to reimburse PayFast for all legal costs, including tracing fees and collection commission, on a scale as between attorney and own client.
Even if innocent, I (the client) must still pay. INSANE!

Bye bye Payfast.
