according to SE helpdesk, we will see the X1 in JHB in Q1 2009,
cant wait. I actually cancelled my iphone upgrade to get the X1 :)

Also waiting desperately for the X1 .. but am looking at giving up hope and grabbing the HTC Touch Pro which is actually available now.. if the X1 was Symbian .. I wouldve waited .. but the fact that its now windows mobile isnt making it special at all ... and the price .. WOW .. GSM arena shows the HTC Touch pro at 8.5k (its free on MTN 500 package, but 4.5k payin on the 350 package) .. and it shows the Xperia as 12.5k .. which makes it probably about 8.5k payin on MTN 350 .. and probably 4.5k payin on the 500 package .. a tad too rich for me ... when all you get extra is 800x480 instead of 640x480 ...

Maybe Im being silly .. but I just cant see the justification of an extra 4k
 
I'm getting a new phone beginning December, to many choices. I'm leaning to the 5800 ATM

I can upgrade now, really don't know what to get! The X1 looks awesome!

I have an HTC Touch now, very pleased with it, if only mtn had the R3000 game voucher deals, I could have kept the touch and gotten an LCD tv...
 
Was also keen on X1 until I saw it's Windows. I'm also weary of first release SE's. The P1 and P990 had huge issues if memory serves. Now I want the Nokia E71 instead.

I Got the first m600i into the country .. and it was terrible till the 3rd firmware release ... I doubt the x1 will be any different considering its rushing to compete with the Iphone and HTC touch pro and others

Can hardly consider it a rushed affair as they've actually missed the launch date :p
