This is the thread for all those who go to gym. Some of us are addicts *you know who you are:p* and others not.

Share your stories, tips, ideas or just plain bragging that you are working hard at gym

Well a few reasons why I gym. A couple of years ago I started doing some weight lifting etc. Anyway I stopped it and wow all that built up muscle and strength went to flab.

Then I had a sever knee injury where I could not walk for about 3 weeks. As it would turn out both of my knee caps are too small. Thus the only thing that can help is constant exercises on my knees.

(Basically if I want to be able to walk, I must gym, a small price to pay)

Anyhow, I then started going back to gym, but with the whole on, off on off routine. Now I am back (last 3 and half weeks)

Gyming both upper body and my legs. 4 Times a week and wow already seeing fantastic results.

I started "gyming" at home again, though it's mostly cardio and muscle-building.

I mix my routine, upper body is weight training and so are my legs. Included 30 to 45 minute cardio sessions as well. At each session

I don't have the luxury of doing my legs, cos I'm doing it all at home. I do have an exercise bike (which I hardly use), a threadmill and some dumbbells.

Mine is not a luxury boet, its a must have. Either that or a wheel chair:eek:

post pictures guys. so we can be motivated:)
when i get a bit of a tan :D

but i've been gyming for a few years now, not very serious though although the intensity is rising by the week these days and also my dieet is not the best...

....but i enjoy it, its become my hobby. i mostly do weights, with a small bit of cardio every now and again.
i can bench just over my body weight (if you don't count the bar; min reps = 5), and i am aming to do the same with my squats, which will hopefully be soon

Yeah, exercise is the best rush there is.

I go to an all-female gym, which is much better than e.g Virgin or Planet.

Doing 30 mins of cardio and 30 mins of circuit, plus sometimes I walk or jog to the gym and back, which is another 30 mins.

When I get home, I am DONE!

im a definite gym addict, 3 times a week and been going strong for the past year now, trying to get my diet in order so i can lose about 4kg and look cut for summer :D

The thing of gyming is: (like Linoman said) - Once you stop all the muscle turns into fat...

no way, if you eat like a pig then maybe but you will still keep the general shape once you stop, but there is no point in stopping, its a lifestyle thing, part of your daily routine :D

muscle can't turn into fat. so if you stop gyming you must change your eating habits, as you ate more while gyming, so obviously you must eat less when you stop.

but the question is, why stop??

yeah, why stop? if you have got some other sporting/physical activity to do then you can tone it down but you shouldn't stop, that just means you are not committed :D anyone here do early morning workouts??

I decided to start gyming after my divorce a couple of weeks ago.
Joined a small gym here in Pta, and start every session with walking and running on the treadmill (About 15 min). Then I work out 2 separate muscle groups every day for about an hour (the guys in-the-know say not longer than that). Then I cool off with either walking on the treadmill again or cycling.

Also have seen some good results, which motivates me more.

Keep it up guys and gals.

Good to see everyone posting in this thread. Will be back later. Going to gym now, cardio and leg day

I wake up at 04H00 and hit the gym just after 05H00. "They" say that early morning workouts are the best because your metabolism is high most of the day - therefore burning more fat.

I'm so fat i hate myself...:o
I have never been this big.....

So thats my motivation, i'm not a fatty, never was and will never be again...:o
