Wi-Fi provider covers Cape Town

Maybe I'm being obtuse. But why is this the only alternative to a diginet line? Wouldn't a VPN over adsl be an option?

Well I don't know anything about the company - but the idea is novel and needed, I would think.
All credit to them, hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the future.

Are they one of VANS that have converted their license?
EDIT: Or about to ;)

I don't think that there is any mention of this being the only alternative. :)
At the end of the day, it's just good to see yet another alternative to Telscum (though the backhaul still runs through the bastards).

Anyway - it's good to see some initiative - hopefully we'll see more stimulation in the market, that's all I want to see. :)

But why do they have a capped option?? I really don't see any use in limiting capacity.

All about budgets I'd imagine.
Not every customer, is going to need and uncapped option - just my take it on it.

Ouch R9000 for a 2mbps line, /me does 4Mbsp+ to friends via my local wug for absolutely no cost each month, and no limit.

One day when I grow up and get a permanent residence of my own - I'll be sure to join up :p :D

WUG's are cool man - one day, one day :D

But on ISM band frequencies

The only problem with this is that most of the WISPS use 2.4 and 5.8 GHz ISM band frequency. The problem is that their infrastructure works today and tomorrow there is a problem with interference etc. I wish them all the luck they deserve. Anything is better than Telkom.

Internet connection required for 20 days in Cape Town (no contracts)

Does anydoby know how can I connect to the Internet in Cape Town with no contract?

I'm going there for 20 days and need decent speed internet connection with about 3-5GB data (512Kb/12Kb minimum) for work 11am - 19:30pm.

Many thanks in advance
David
