2009 gaming league kicks off

This article is a bit misleading, suggesting that this is the only league taking place. However, the MSSA tournament will probably be the worst attended tournament out of the many that are springing up at the beginning of this year. This is because of their poor attitude shown towards the gamers that take part in these tournaments and their really shoddy organisation. They are so disliked that the premiere online league organiser in South Africa, AGASA, that has helped or hosted their previous attempts, will have nothing to do with them this year.

MSSA has proclaimed their governership over the sport, giving no good reason why this should be the case and with zero experience in this sphere. They have subsequently alienated almost every gamer that has competed in their tournaments (at least in the BF2 and COD4 communities) , doing nothing for the sport.

Some really exciting tournaments will be hosted early this year by AGASA (Call of Duty 4 and WAW; Team Fortress 2; Battlefield 2; Counterstrike Source), Battle of the Clans (Call of Duty 4; Team Fortress 2; Counterstrike Source) and iGame (only Call of Duty 4 at the moment). These tournaments are getting some big sponsors on board, like Intel, do Gaming and Incredible Connection, which is fantastic news for SA gaming.

Amen...AGASA IS the only decent league in SA...and iGame is getting there...

I Haven't even heard of these MSSA Ppl...
 
Liked the sound of this, as league play works better for me than a big bang type tourney. But I have to say, what a poorly constructed site? There is no information about structure of the leagues, how many teams, times etc. All they want you to do is fill in a form and pay them.

Seriously good idea, but get organised and do it properly. Oh and try putting some information on your website.
