Free budget speech streaming on Vodacom

This is a nice initiative from Vodacom. Also good to see that the SMS is free ;) Next step free YouTube :D

Yes that's nice of them to give the bandwidth to their subscribers to watch this, or it is a marketing stradegy which will try get people to purchase more channels.
 
Apart from a nice gesture it is certainly also a valuable marketing strategy, but that is cool with me. They don’t force me to buy anything – simply give a free product as an introduction to other offerings. I guess it is like offering you those free sample chocolates in a supermarket…certainly no harm done :)
 
Will they charge users if they connect now, or is there a waiting screen with no cost? Will they charge the users that connect a few minutes before and stay a few minutes too long?

Can I access this through my normal VLive AP?
 
You have to be very morbid to watch that speech. It is like watching your own death sentence.

The problem with our economy is that it is in Manual, not Automatic, and that is an ANC Manual gearbox we're talking about
The problem with Vodacom is the offer this useless thing for free instead of making OOB 5c/MB
 
Hi rpm,

When will Skype speech streaming be available on 3G to local telephone number? When I got HSDPA constant signal Skype conversations are impossible. The same goes for local ADSL.

However when I am outside South Africa skype to local SA telephone works.

If I was sitting in front of an HD TV with the live budget speech on in Dolby Surround Sound, and Trever Manual was wearing a bikini, I'd change channel - why sit through 1.5 hours of boring on a 2 inch cellphone screen when you can read the summarised version in 5 minutes later in the day? Perhaps Vodacom could have chosen a more exciting free thing to attract some customers.
