SABC’s ‘bloated’ head count

Something had to be done to reduce the “bloated personnel” at the loss-making SABC and to ensure proper supervision of procurement within the organisation, Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri said yesterday.

not sure that getting rid of staff and contractors will help the situation much since the directors probably earn as much on an annual basis as all the staff and contractors combined

Close down SAA and SABC and give the playing field to the competition that knows how to run a business. I'm tired of my Tax money keeping these goverment money drains afloat.

SABC

We the mangement rule the roast - tata ma millions then go - round and round we go - get with the program - KAPICH..
EVERY MAN IS A DAMN FOOL FOR AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES A DAY - WISDOM CONSITS IN NOT EXCEEDING THE LIMIT

Hmmm ... Expenses went up by 1,213 bn .. but lets blame the 400 million shortfall in advertising revenue for some of it ... and maybe when Deliotte releases the report, no-one will realize that they have mentioned our "jobs for pals" policy in our HR division as a potential problem ..

Also .. what we can do .. is go to the Treasury for guarantees, so that the banks wont reduce our overdrafts (cause most companies can do that after experiencing a "bad management" patch) .. so that we can pay an extra couple of million to Bowman Gilfillan for a second opinion .. cause Deliottes arent really THAT good.

Then maybe I can still have those to 18 year old secretaries, and the blond Smith twins in accounting .. who lets face it, have been signing those bogus bonus cheques for weeks now...

Permanent staff (read MANAGEMENT) heads should be rolling .. not a couple of contractors who had nothing to do with the original problem

Unreal

Lets add Sentech to this list

Not so fast, I havent found new service provider yet

You can bet they will cull heaps of small jobs at the bottom (usually technical and maintenance) and keep all the bloatware at the top and all the accountants and overpriced consultants.

The corporate governance of the public broadcaster was also fraught with deficiencies, the minister said at a media briefing of the economic cluster of departments.

Hello Pot.. I'd like you to meet Kettle.
