R 6.5 million website under scrutiny

Do you think the Durban 2010 website price tag of R 6.5million is justified?

I don't see how it would cost that much, its so simple looking.

isn't even interactive or nice looking, its just a screenshot/scan from a mapbook.
Probably cost them a couple a thousand and then they pocketed the rest.
looks like an afterschool project to me
 
It was pointed out yesterday that the MD of the IT company is the son of one of the council mugs ....... price tag: justified ;)
 
I believe I could do it for 6.4 Mil :D

Anyone know how expensive these municipal managers are the bribe :mad:
 
seems i'm in the wrong profession - 6.5 MILLION !?!?!? is that including dedication storage, own ISP, and support staff for the next 20 years? then maybe...

like Gary said, i will also work day and night to create that for 100k...

What a massive waste of money!

Although it does leave me thinking I should stop working so hard on my own websites and just tender for government websites. I could make a fortune with very little effort seemingly :-)
 
to be completely honest, that website doesnt look like 6.5mil let alone R10 000. As for the live cam pics for the stadium, its supposed to update every 15 minutes, but to be honest, that's an old photo - atleast 2 months old!
 
wonder how much they had to pay FIFA for logo rights?

maybe the website cost R50K... and the logo usage rights cost R6.45 Million :D

Obviously someone's cousin or daughter or brother got the job. All this talk about stopping corruption is just that: TALK. Worst is there's nothing we can do about it, the ANC will just cover it up like they always do.

I hope these corrupt government officials end up in jail.

Its seems like the whole country, with the exception of the Western Cape, is run by thieves. GET RID OF THEM!!
