Vodacom versus Cell C on 99% discounts

What are these sanctions?

Do we get to be free from both CellC & Voda advertising for a couple of months?

EDIT: I am up to 99% sure that this could perhaps not be true.
 
Sadly from what it seems, vodacom operates alot on "rather ask for forgiveness, then permission".

This is the typical SA corporate mindset, cutting corners and taking chances.

Now can we trust a company that lies to us in its advertising? What other areas of the business are run this way?
 
Vodacom ads are the worst and deserved to be stopped.
Most single ladies agree with this.
 
Force them to give the 99% discounts they claim... :D

That's one of the best ideas I've read around here, simply force them to live up to the advertisement for at least a month, in this case the 99% off would teach them a lesson they won't soon forget.

I remember at one point, presuming I remember correctly, that companies were obliged to live up to any adverts they placed.

What nonsense! They kept it there with the intention of misleading as many people as they possibly could, or they have just admitted their utter incompetence as a telecommunications business.

The idea wasn't too bad, but the implementation was sus.
Even in the beginning at very quiet times I couldn't see 99%. Others reported the same. As far as I understand it, the system was supposed to measure when the network was quiet and offer the discount, but I reckon it may have been manipulated. At least questions about this were disregarded.
 
Ive NEVER EVER seen 99% discount on my vodacom discount thing on my cellphone. The most has been 80%. It looks like 'lower income' areas seem to get all the benefits of this 'discount' by having a bigger saving during the day. Shoulda figured
