Lower price, faster speed Intel SDD

Where to get these in SA

Does anyone know some good sources for picking up Intel SSD drives?

Random write performance increases twofold, further separating the X25-M from other competing SSDs.

This is a mistake, intel is not far ahead, ocz and g.skill are beating them in performance in price.. The x25m is slower read/write than g.skill and ocz.

60% drop in price sounds nice though. Itenl can only read and write at around 80mb a second both ocz and g.skill are over the 150 mark.

haha, glad I waited :D
but I'll wait a few more months prices still are not worth it.

I want to get one primarily for my OS ... I need less than 80GB.

I'm getting a 64GB unit with my NEC netbook.

Was v pleasantly surprised the other day to get a fast ssd in a 8.9" Asus netbook I bought on a whim - pity it's only 16gb tho. 64gb is ideal Peter - let's hope it's a fast one tho, otherwise you'll be better off running Japanese Linux :p
First-gen netbooks are notorious for their slow ssd's. Some googling revealed Asus now started using these 90mbs read/50mbs write ssd's as their netbook standard, which are abt twice the speed of their earlier models - hopefully this will drive a revolution in the netbook market.

Got 64GB Samsung SLC based almost 2 years ago for R1500.. What a farking bargain :D
