ICASA councilors criticized in National Assembly

ICASA's incredibly naive attempt to stop the Vodacom listing will haunt them for some time to come and this is a good thing for consumers, even though it is a result of politics at play and with no thought to the direct public good

as i understand it the Minister regards them as rebellious institution ...
 
"The minister must now decide on either one of the two candidates," he said.

It is extremely UNFAIR for consumers to have to put up with the likes of ICASA and very very extremely UNFAIR to only criticise ICASA on these, comparatively, very minute points.

Do you work at ICASA? I know for a fact theyre useless and a bane to SA telecoms. Its their fault that telecoms is in the shambles it is in today.

ISPA?

If ure talking about ICASA.. at ICASA council selections you will often find a Telkom rep there...where he shouldnt be. Telkom is not vs ICASA ... Telkom = ICASA=ANC protecting ANC profits.
 
This included councillors' failure to process regulatory decisions on the basis of proper and legally defensible procedures; and an absence of organisational cohesion between the councilors and Icasa's senior executive management.

Why don't they just fire them for incompetence???

oh, wait... sorry... I forgot which country I was in for a minute there.
 
Dunno if any of you have read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, but there are so many similarities between events in that book and what is happening in our country today, it's scary.

Taxing the people with ability and handing out jobs to incompetents for the sake of a higher social ideal, which is rubbished to such an extent in that book that it becomes a joke when you think about it.

And the solution to the problem is classic xD
 
Remembering that our new minister of miscommunication is ex army, I thought for a second there that he had gone postal and was firing on ICASA councillors with a real gun.

Was a nice second. still have the mental image and will store it for the next time i need to buy bandwidth.

It was Rand's last work of fiction before concentrating her writings exclusively on philosophy, politics and cultural criticism.
