Plan to be Off Windows XP by Year-End 2012

Well the world's coming to an end in 2012 so whether we like it or not we'l be off xp

Win7 is worth the upgrade. I'm running the final release on two of my machines and there are no problems.

I am running RC x64 at home and RTM x32 at work. :D
If you upgrade and have the hardware try to go for the x64 version. It is really worth it.

Yes you would be. Big difference... with 2GB, I don't think so AFAIK. But if you can actually get a 4GHz Core 2 Duo, I think that would really improve the performance :D.

You will see no difference now at all. 64 bit is not natively faster (at least not in the same way that a 2.6ghz processor is faster than a 2.0ghz processor). 64 bit does have the potential to enable technologies that could improve performance; so games with 64bit optimised code will perform better in future.

There is no reason for the casual/home/game user to move 64bit just yet; however there is also no real reason NOT to move either....
