Telkom's first-half profit plummets

BURN IN HELL

YOU SCREWED EVERYONE AND STILL COULDN'T MAKE A PROFIT, PROOF THAT YOU CANT MAKE A PROFIT WITH STUPIDITY.

TELKOM, CAUSE ROCK BOTTOM INST ENOUGH!

As soon as LLU is effective they are going to have one hell of a time trying to protect their income. HA-HA-HA!!

Only looks bad when excluding the R40 Billion profit it made from the Vodacom sale!

Selling the stake in vodacom was a stupid move, was its only consistent income and one of the biggest. And look they used that money (not all but a lot) and went into the international market in new york, and they pulled out after spending a lot. And then they moved up africa where there is comp and are getting there ass rapped, and only expect to turn a profit in a few years.

Telkom proving you can't just throw money at a problem.

Some business advice Telkom.

Reduce the cost of entry and you will increase penetration!

Now can I have my massive overpaid paycheck or bonus.

Are you corrupt? If yes here is your massive pay check and thank you for being our acting ceo. If not sod off, we know how to run a company (into the ground)

It just proves that they can't compete in a competitive environment. If they weren't protected in the SA market they would of failed long ago just like the idiots at Sentec!

You drive a hard deal but ok, but we hired you and we made a stupid contract, here is your pay off. $1000000000.00

Expect a knee-jerk reaction and the immediate increase of their prices...

I would expect the opposite.

Go have a careful look at their interims... Income Statement might not look rosy right now but they have a very solid balance sheet and free cash flow. Net debt to EBITDA ratio of 0,8x - many listed companies would give their left nut for that!

The more pertinent question remains about their ability to deliver on their publicized defend and grow strategy. All the big write-offs have now hopefully disappeared; it was these once-offs that were skewing their financials, eg. Telkom Media and MultiLinks goodwill impairments.

Another pertinent question would be who will be falling on their sword because of these impairments that were caused by perceived poor decisions.

BTW, for the period under review Telkom actually posted a profit after taxation of R39,737 billion.

whatever i just wish they would become obsolete. and the twin towers collapse
