Anti-Virus: Which is the best?

Kaspersky. But one version actually blocked access to http://192.168.0.1 [my router] cause its a potentially harmful website. So I'm sceptic about Kaspersky.

I have used Mcafee Internet Security for last 5 years, not a single issue or virus since I have been using it :)

I dumped AVG & AVAST for ESET on 64bit - works well!

and I bet you if you had to un-install it and install atleast AVG or ESET or something other than Mcaffee or Norton - your pc speed will almost double! - Mcaffee and Norton is only good if you're trying to flog a dead dog! Not to mention the fact that if you had to install something better like ESET, you'll find a bunch of trojans and viruses Mcaffee just didn't detect!

+1 - but I must be fair, I havent tried it in the last 2 - 3 years!

MS security essentials works very well for me. And it was free...

I've been using MSE 64Bit for a couple of months now, quote happy with it. Of the free AV software versions ( Avira, Avast, AVG ) I've seen MSE capable of cleaning an infected file, big difference to quarantine/delete. False positives can be deadly - see a thread on here with avast having a huge issue.
Initially Avira got the boot for larger size updates compared to Avast, having said that, I've no easy method of measuring MSE update sizes. Avast on Vista is annoying with its security permissions, AVG I just don't trust and it seems to be sliding in rank.

Currently using Nod32 64bit and Comodo Internet Security (without the anti virus)

AVG Free for Win7, but I limit my connection to the Internet, usually connect via Windows only for iTunes for the rest I connect via Linux thus no worry ;-)

I've been using BitDefender for the past 2 years and I find it to be the best by far. It's always detected viruses and runs nicely and quietly in the background. You don't even know it's there :)

I have been using Avira's free edition for 2 years. The only reason is because I read an article in SA Computer at that time. They where the best at that stage as well.
