Constant disconnections with Afrihost

I've probably suffered 15 disconnections in the last 30 minutes. Making surfing or normal web use annoyingly UNUSUABLE
 
dude arn't your router or line or something ****ed ?.

pta east. afrihost. linksys router == no issues. been facebooking and irc-ing for past 2 hours. i wonder if we should not take note where all the IS complaints are. i'll take a good bet that they might be all in the same area if not interconnected to same grid which might be fuber...
 
My connection is also very stable at the moment. No disconnects.
 
I'm in PTA east as well but have been having some issues for the past 20 minutes or so.
Every 5 minutes or so my WoW freezes up for about 30 sec and then its fine again.
Latensy is normal.
Even tried resetting my rooter.


nvm. Seems it a problem with the server I'm playing on.

Afrihost's been great since signing up with the launch of their R29/gb deal until... well... now. Gian! Plug the innernetz back in! It are borked! :p

Very slow - a myBB page takes about 90 seconds to load... Oh, well. First hiccup ever - hopefully it sorts itself quickly.

I really don't understand - you can't call them after hours but if you submit a ticket, anytime of the day they'll call you back? So wtf am I meant to do when my internet is down?
 
Get a Axxess prepaid voucher from Engen or PnP and see if you still have the problem.
 
a) I've tested with 3 different accounts (WA, Verizon and SAIX), why the **** would I post here if I didn't? I'm not a n00b
b) I live right next to the exchange, my 384kbps line maxes out at 40kb/s on downloads, trust me, it's not a line or quality issue.
c) Axxess runs on the same ****ing network as Afrihost, meaning IS, changing from one reseller to another reseller if it's possibly the network won't help
d) Clearly I'll post to find out if anyone has the same issues, which of course they're having
e) I'm outta here, I'll just suck it up I guess. Community has gone to **** in the last few years

i'm curious did you at least attempt to call them to have a look at the grid from where you are connecting ?

strange that from where i live in pretoria Internet Solutions (olde afrihost account) is not giving issues; hec the must be using a different network just for me. this is why i said that we should maybe be focusing on which areas where this is happening.

btw axxess's IS accounts is semi shaped where as afrihost isn't. they obviously have to run differently how else can one be unshaped and other not at the exactly same time in the evenings and weekends?

just because we all are not having issues doesn't mean we have gone to ****. in fact i would say the **** caller is the only one going to ****, having to use ****, right ;)
