Anyone know of a way of access the UT-D such as telnetting it? if so ip address? and any other info?

I enquired from Kyocera a while back and they said no (after first referring me to WBS, to only hear my comments on the lack of customer care)

When I get time I'll look into exposing the API. I do suspect that the API is only exposed via JTAG because of numerous references to it in the text in the firmware.

( I am sure it exists because of the extensive text strings and other tidbits I found when I did a hexdump of the UTD's Flash ROM code)

UTD can be accessed via normal HyperTerminal.
Commans and other things equal to Cisco routers.

u can see towers numbers and signals level
+400 other commands
it's really dangerous if u no familiar with this :-))

I assume you mean thru ethernet?

Thru ethernet? What IP?

I think he is talking about COM4... The iBurst drivers create a virtual COM port on your PC when you connect via USB.

Didn't explain in my post above re contacting Kyocera, I specifically enquired about ethernet. My bad, I assumed (obviously wrongly :) ) this was about using ethernet, because one can probably reverse engineer what's cooking on USB.

Sorry, are you trying to "dial in" to your computer?

u can use USB or ethernet. no difference. on the network one can access UTD from any workstation. thats why u have to be carefull.

No his trying to gain access to his UT by his computer he wants to see list of base stations etc. I think not sure but if there is way to do this would like to know how

Is that the only way to find out which base station you are connected to.

for now. next version of USB terminal will display tower number. (uncofirmed info)

So please explain how to do it. I am an engineer and I know how to be careful so I won't bugger up my UTD

GRES please could you forward that pm to me as well :D
