[Hoax:] Iburst bandwidth doubled at no extra charge

I just received an email from [email protected] and I even checked that it really came from their email server. Is this for Real ??

Broadband is fast becoming the next digital divide, and today the 1st of November 2005 is indeed a very sad day for the South African broadband user.

So to brighten up your day and in order to ensure that the South African broadband community keeps up with the ever changing face of the Internet, Wireless Business Solutions is ready to take South African broadband to a new and exciting level.

We are excited and happy to announce that effective 1st December 2005, all future and existing iBurst subscribers will have their bandwidth usage cap doubled at no extra cost whatsoever.

What this means:

i-Go subscribers will have their bandwidth usage capped at 1 Gigabytes. The package will be renamed iBurst gig1.

iBurst gig1 subscribers will have their bandwidth usage capped at 2 Gigabytes. The package will be renamed iBurst gig2.

iBurst gig3 subscribers will have their bandwidth usage capped at 6 Gigabytes. The package will be renamed iBurst gig6.

iBurst gig6 subscribers will have their bandwidth usage capped at 12 Gigabytes. The package will be renamed iBurst gig12.

iBurst gig9 subscribers will have their bandwidth usage capped at 18 Gigabytes. The package will be renamed iBurst gig18.

Furthermore we are happy to finally be able to officially announce that all existing and future accounts will no longer be subjected to any port shaping policies.

It's time to celebrate a new beginning in South African broadband.

You've got to be sh1tting me -- this is what's SUPPOSED to happen to broadband (although usually, there's a cut in the price as well :) )

Wish I could get Iburst in my area.....
 
I also not sure what to believe. So far nothing on iburst website. I received email twice, as a subscriber and as a partner. The email headers (without my email address details) show:

I phoned my reseller and iburst now and neither have heard about it but I asked them to double check. Did any other iburst subscribers get the email?

No way. If this is the case the iBurst network may be about to go from deserted to congested!!!
 
hmmm maybe you just got scammed....

I see there's a lot of spam going around... and this seems to be a hoax more than anything...
 
I got the mail as well, but I figure they will only update their website tomorrow cause I got it at like 16:50.

Suppose the mail will go out to all users tomorrow, maybe its just people in the know that got the mail!

I was going to say something stupid, but it looks like iBurst beat me to it!
 
I seriously doubt that this is authentic.

But on the off chance that it is, I have to say that I would be suitably impressed.

It would be a step in the right direction. In fact, the only chance they have of growing is to do some drastic changes to their pricing. At the moment they're just too expensive.
