Where is this media release printed and circulated. They probably refer to TELKOM Internet users and nobody else. Let them hang themselves. The last panic kicks of a dying corrupt company I hope. What a TELKOM farce. I tried to go softer on TELKOM but found it to hard to bear. This is blatant mass brainwashing and requires what it deserves, mass drive of information against TELKOM and its ways. MAss advertising against TELKOM, Mass protests against TELKOM, block the highways ala France (petrol prices), Canvass the poor which Telkom so handsomely deny free and cheap communications.
RPM print a counter response in the same or other main papers. I will donate R500.00 now anyone else?????

Then again I can say I told you so, read through all my threads where I stated this is a PR scam, Talking to TELKOM would just be turned around and twisted, against you. The scary part is that the uninformed will believe this mass media brainwashing ****, because it is Telkom. Where is Icasa, PAPI, Colloquium, meetings and all other ****. Now all of this people is made up by TELKOM as imbeciles as what came out here is that everybody involved suddenly condoned and agreed to this mass raping and defrauding of the consumer.

I will cancel all links of business with TELKOM ASAP and use alternate means until the situation improves in SA, which I doubt will ever be possible while GVT protects TELKOM.

Tally +- R7100.00 lots to go

Hi guys

This is not needed! In my recent (late this afternoon) discussions with Telkom they have agreed to make a public statement and offer an apology if the facts in their statement is incorrect. This should happen some time tomorrow :D

After the previous issues regarding donations we can also unfortunately not allow donations in the name of MyADSL. I truly appreciate the initiative taken by so many members and hope this continues. I do however think much more can be achieved through ‘free’ means. Just let people know what is going on, send letters to your local newspapers etc.

Regards,

RPM

@ RPM. Thanks, I appreciate your efforts but my pledges stand, It is will not be in the name of MyADSL as discussed in other threads but a means will be set up to administrate this properly and legally, either for anti TELKOM advertisements or legal action if and when requires. LoneGunman and Alacos also have a thread to start legal action and this would go hand in hand. I do not think we will get anywhere with TELKOM. I reserve my attitude to be proven wrong. I think this is a measure for all to see that the MyADSL forumites is serious to tackle TELKOM from now with all means possible. The pledge is just a way to voice the support if action is instituted in whichever way, either via Alacos or Antitrust or other institution. This is by MyADSL forumites for the broader action against TELKOM.

I pledge R1000 - we need to set up (and get it 100% correct)
a fund.

Debbie Love and Anti Trust have done some great work.
Parliament, Telkom AGM, street posters and probably a lot more.

Maybe they could hire permanent placard holders at key intersections
all over the country.

My 2c:

I think you are going after the wrong people. If we want to see a real change, I think we need to go after the incompetent DoC. It is the DoC's fault that we in this situation and Telkom has taken advantage of it. Besides I think it will take alot less money to fight the DoC than Telkom.

Yjanks for the 2c pledge we appreciate it. We will include the facts of the protection of TELKOM, delays of the SNO and the cahoots of ICASA, DoC, GVT, ASASA and TELKOM, and maybe the SNO we will see, in this whole debacle of screwing the public and not make information and cheap communcation available for the masses

Two threads running on the same topic. Mods could we please merge them so as to get a united stand on this
Nope they are aligned but the one refers to legal action and the other to media campaing to inform the public and rival support. There is also two other threads that have similar content
I would not mind a single thread as long as the Header support both posibilitys! and see it as the same venture

How much is a prime time advert on TV for 3 weeks?

"In the US... In the UK .... even in Egypt .... "
And at the end, this Iraqi dude saying "And we thought we had it bad".

Imagine what a funny ad, with Enormous impact, could be made! :P

We've got the pledges going.

1) We need to form a group outside of MyADSL
2) We need to set up a task force team. (Leaders, etc.)
3) We need to find a marketing company out there who can get things done yesterday
4) Bank accounts
5) Public Plans
6) Mandate to Telkom to change things (Just to say we warned them)
7) The message we want to get across to the public.
(PLEASE KEEP IN MIND.... WE CAN PLAY THIS BOTH WAYS.... We can do the honest heres the fact way.... Or we can do what Telkom does. Lie... and when they accuse us of lying then we will have a nice propaganda engine against Telkom.)

I'll pledge R1000
