I would wait for the lines to actually be sorted, before getting excited.

You gyus called it to the letter, phone them today and nothing happened further the projects have now been pushed even further now it's a two months extra delay and also this anita lady that i spoke has now vanished of the face of the earth!!!! The number listed does not exist anymore, i'm sure telkom think they are the CIA or FBI arm in SA, so secretive and the next day the nr does not even exist. can You beleive that!!!!!

I have waited 4 months for the "ports planning" to completed. This has now been completed yesterday and finally my ADSL light is on, but now my application seem to be with some Technical guys which I assume need to allocate my port to the network. Now they estimating 25 Apr for an install date but I am on self install. Surely this could be done quicker?

Anyone know who I can phone in the Durban area to see if they can sort it out?

I am in the same boat up here in Gauteng and frankly I am sick of it. Time to p1ss on any and every Telkom employee I can, managers included. 3 months and still NO installation date, it's rubbish.

Been waiting 2 months now for an ADSL installation for a business client of mine, spoke to Christo van Asweging Telkom Pretoria - the freaking most rude individual I have ever spoken to over a telephone. If I had a photo of this dude I would post it on my website FrontPage. Telkom service sux.

If only i had those numbers sooner.

I have been trying to do a self install and tomorrow will be five weeks. I have phoned everyday since i first started. I have given up now and i will wait for this call for a tech to say you can collect your stuff and install. I did hear the lady Erika tell me that she would speak to George....tomorrow i will phone George in a last attempt.

I thought that a self install would be quicker.....oh my how wrong was i.

Lol, no problem. I think we were fooled....eish....Telkom you tricky buggers you.

Albert i can only imagine that they have so many specialists working for telkom, i mean they have a tech. who goes out and opens the box. He then sends a request for someone to look at the box. 3 days and a tech. looks at the box. He then sends a request for someone to come a flip a switch. 3 days later a tech comes and flips the switch........you know what i mean...eish.

Ha ha ha !!!! :D
Well said !!
Going like this for months!!

Does anyone have any numbers for the ADSL installation guys in Randburg/Fourways. I am sick of phoning the ADSL Installation Helpdesk 0800456786 for an installation status these people don't even know how to use the computers in front of them they will give you a different message every time. Each time I have to tell them that the ports have been allocated to me please look again. They then appologise for the mistake and say they will escalate the installation priority request................nothing.
I even got the call centre managers direct line 021 4144865 on a few occasions but that is always engaged/disconnected. I think this is a dud number they hand out just to get rid of me.
Don't bother with Customer Care number 0800600126 as they are just as helpless/ clueless as the ADSL Installation Helpdesk

It is so pathetic that the Telkom management hides behind those poor helpless people at the various Telkom help desks. Working at a telkom help desk must be one of the worst/stressful and helpless jobs in the country.

I've been waiting for an installation since 24 Apr 2006 where ADSL was supposed to be available.

how's this one!

Phoned Telkom today to get my application in properly for ADSL as I got application forms faxed to me last week with tariffs for 2005...
Sweet lady in PE tells me that my ref no already has an order placed against it since last week.
"Cool," I say! "But I haven't placed an order yet, I have the docs, here on my desk."
"We have an order placed last week for a 512DSL line."
"But I want a 384 line"
"Do I Know that prices are going down tomorrow?" says the lady.
"Yes, but I still want a 384 line and I haven't put an order in yet."
"I can't help you with that, here's your order number and the ADSL helpline:eek: number. They will help you now."
"OK, but I haven't placed an order yet."
"You will be charged at the old rates for the first month or so, as you placed the order before 1 August."
"I beg your pardon??? are you:mad: ?"
"What if I cancel my order:rolleyes:and reorder tomorrow, will the price come down then?"
"Yes sir"
"thank you" and I died.
