Ok so this is my first post on the mybroadband forums. I expect some flaming and trolls but oh well such is life.

That being said. I think the title to my thread is quite self-explanatory. I have been dating my gf for a couple of months. I really love this girl and all that soppy nonsense...We have decided it's time to take our relationship to the next level, bare in mind that she is not the virgin but i am.

My question is this, what contraceptive measures should we take in order to ensure there won't be any stress for the next couple of months. What condom is the best to use? What is the best morning after pill? I'm just trying to cover all angles. I'm very paranoid when it comes to these situations, however i also wanna be responsible (hypocritical statement, seeing that i wanna engage in sex before marriage) but oh well i've got needs too lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. go for testing, both of you. Do it together.
2. if she is not on a contraceptive, she needs to discuss this with her gynecologist. (you will usually have a waiting period after she starts)
3. Using a condom is up to you after that, its always better to be safer, but if you have both been tested and she is on a proper contraceptive, you should be ok.
4. Dont feel bad after the first time if its not all its cracked up to be. It gets better

She should get a prescription for the Pill from a GP and take it religiously(and learn what cancels it out, like anti-biotics, certain soy-based products and such). And then just get some condoms from a reputable store.

Don't get to the point where you need to use the morning-after pill. It'll wreck havoc on her body.

Apologies, it's "First" time :)

Waiting period for how long though?

Most of your questions have been answered so I'll look to the others. Condom wise Durex is pretty good and reasonably priced (check Macro for bulk packs lol), ask/make sure she is on birth-control and enjoy. First time really isn't all it's cracked up to be.

What sorts of havoc? sorry for the stupid questions, will definitely research everything, but appreciate the feedback from you guys

To note no form of contraception is 100% safe 27.4. Also the pill does have negative side effects for some woman same with the morning after.

Now that that is out of the way...

You might shoot early due to stress and whole new level of excitement so don't commit seppuka because if it. To avoid that rather stay calm and collective, perhaps take a warm bath together. Make sure you are NOT disturbed, so don't go do it in a public place.

If you are going the condom route use proper brand and nothing funny like glow in dark, flavored etc etc because that might increase the chances of rippage. For the pill she have to be at least already on a 30 day cycle without missing a day BEFORE you commit to frakking.

Morning After pill floods her body with hormones and forces her to have her period. It ruins the hormonal balance in her body for a while. It really is something to be avoided when at all possible. It also has the potential for some nasty side effects. She's not meant to drink it more than once or twice in her life l, never mind regularly.

Re: Fist time having sex

I think it's so ironic that alcohol cancels the pill.

Eh, gf is on the pill. Don't really care even if she does get pregnant I'll go get an abortion on Voortrekker road and sommer get a nipple piercing at the same place with the same hanger they used to take it out.

Ask your pharmacist or doctor. Point is, the morning-after pill is for emergencies only, it's not to be used as your regular method of contraception.
