I've searched but can't find a useful answer. Maybe somebody here can give us guidance. Rpm, you've covered the cpa in the past, any comments/suggestions?
My question: Does the 5 days cooling off period apply to electronic transactions as well and what is the effect when buying uncapped internet access online?
Background: On the 1st of December, I signed up for uncapped internet. Not being happy at all with the performance (using my other account on the same line works 100%), I decided to cancel and go somewhere else. On the 3rd of December, I logged a ticket and notified the ISP to cancel the account with immediate effect. After 2 days of fighting their "calendar month notice period", they've finally agreed to cancel the account immediately, but decided to charge me R115 for data usage. This changed to R90 and the last call I received the price went up to R165 for data usage during that period.
I've noticed that MWeb is the one ISP that actually specifically mentions the 5 days cooling off period in their terms and conditions. Are all ISPs bound to it and does it apply to services such as these?
