Does anyone know what to do or which company to work for inorder to be a SAP consultant, pls help I wanna be a SAP specialist

Get a job with a company who uses SAP first and then do courses through them, the basic FI course costs R100 K to do, if you have the money go for it, otherwise go work for a company who uses it first so that you can practise while learning it.

sphila, welcome to myADSL.

as stated above, the courses are really expensive. you can however get access to the course material online. i have not done this myself and do not know how good the material is. a simple google search will reveal a few sources.

Ja I'm trying to be at right place at the right time, fortunately i"ve join this big organisation and they are currently rolling out SAP, but i'm not too sure how am I gonna be involved. What if I don't get involved the way I want to, do I need to look for another company

Why do you want to become a SAP specialist? I think that is the starting point

Guys, i have spent some time now trying to find the going rates in South Africa, I currently work in SAP field and it is so hard to get a decent salary if you dont have any kind of pointers...has anyone got any suggestions on where i could look?

Telkom would be a great start. They are big on SAP.

You also get a rebate on your telephone line !!

SAP is not the worlds greatest db/terminal server to work on

Personally, i think it sucks

I have contacted two guys at SAP SA, which didnt reply back on my emails. I just asked them how to get involved with the small business solution, with no reply.

If you search around on the net, there is plenty of db/terminal applications in the corporate arena.

Well, most of which are self explainable, SAP isnt just a huge program. Its like a engine for a 3D game, the developer builds he's own modules to form a huge program that functions within the company requirements.

So is most other programs aswell. Pastel recently introduced Evolution. Works on the same principle, build your own modules.

Sometimes its not about the salary @ the end of the month, but, to make a change in company performance and revenues generated.

I mean 100k just for 1x course, F5$%$ing insane...

Hope this helps you a bit.
