Today my Iburst is totally dead. So i phoned the help desk and they tell me the international link is down (for 3 days now). "But local sites are also not working? Oh we are working on the problem."

So now i am using Metrofi`s free service to use the Internet where as i pay Iburst R600 for no service.

I have always been a big fan of Iburst but lately i am loosing my dedication to them!!
 
I think it's just your connection man. We all are experiencing normal speeds again everywhere in the country. I just did a speed test, mine's working good.
 
I don't know what all the complaining is about, I'm capped and the speeds are still fine (64kbps). When I was uncapped it was like 500kbps international.
 
Exactly Donovan. Mine's going great at 721kb/s Intl. Maybe you should phone the helpdesk WebHostingTalk.

U serious? that's the answer? how can they be working on something if they don't know it's degraded?? :confused:
 
Well I'm not capped yet and the best speed I get is 225kB/s. Wireless BROADBAND my @ss!!!
 
UtTraceStar not running now, but my avg signal is -71db's on the Morningside (westpoint) tower. I normally experience speeds of +-600kbs.

Your Tower is probably just congested. I'm sure your speed will get better in the morning or close to midnight. Surprisingly, my speeds are much faster in the day than in the evenings.
 
I would not say it's back to normal speeds as my downloading is only about 2/3 the normal speed from rapidshare.

Well, mine appears to be back to normal. Yesterday my signal was 6db worse than normal, but it's back to it's normal weak signal of 90.

The speeds I get (although capped) is at full speed. Good timing. Luckily this problem that lasted a week (for me) is finished at weekend. And my latency is much down than the average of the week. normally i get those pings at weekend. early weekend maybe?
 
greatbigmouth, phoning the useless support team at iburst is just looking for trouble... the last time I phoned complaining about Death by Cap, the stupid guy tells me that he's been getting a lot of than and ignores sorting out my problem... really nice helper I say
 
Well phoning them about most things should be *that* bad, DbC isn't something that the help desk will deal with. They just haven't been informed about it.

You have to phone a second level techie (just ask to speak to one from help desk) or maybe Shaun Green, who will probably just refer you to one of those guys anyway.
 
Ditch Iburst - Its Rubbish

I've been with Iburst for 6 months and in that time their service has got worse not better. Connecting to the Wonderboom tower at 9kbs is not exactly what I call value for money at R699 per month. If their service does not improve very soon, I shall do what I did with Sentech "stop my debit order". It's nice that their business is growing, but it's at my expense.
