Hi Vodacom 3g this message i will direct towards you or BRAD who ever can answer me first, I have had a few problems for the past few months. I have a 3g phone and in certain places under 3g coverage people complain that they always get the subscriber you have dialed is not available. Now I assumed that it may be a software problem but then a lot of my customers have come in to complain about the same problem, then we got a TyTN and we are experiencing the same problem. Is there a problem with the network has anyone else complained.

i get that alot on voda, on 3G and not 3G... i got used to it, and i suggest you do too, as its notlikely to change anytime soon

Can you give us some info, where this happens, times, what tower you're connected to, handset model, etc.

There is not a generic problem, so it could be someting specific.

Its not one tower its a few mainly Izotsha creek 2 and the uvongo tower aswell as the Shelly beach tower.on the lower South Coast,KZN

Hi V3g i did a firmware ROM upgrade on the TyTN as per leaf this didn't help i will try a 64k sim card this may work will let you know.

Yipee!!!! The 64k sim swap seems to have sorted out the problem... even though the experts said it (upgrading to a 64k simcard) shouldn't make much difference... they thought that the phone's firmware was preventing it from switching to GSM when 3G signal was weak, not the network. Well, it seems it was as simple as a sim card upgrade, not the network nor the phone, thank heaven!

The HTC TYTN now doesn't "miss the call nor re-direct you to voicemail" when you drop to a low (was missing calls when signal dropped to 2bar when full signal is 4bar signal) on "U" (or 3G mode), it was struggling to change to the GSM mode in a weaker 3G signal area.

I also did the ROM firmware upgrade, but that didn't solve the problem... it did speed the phone up a bit though:) Will keep you posted if the problem comes back.:D :D :D

64k sim

Ha Ha it worked the 64k sim did the job not only on this handset but a few others aswell !:D

I can only guess the reasson that this sim can correct this problem is because of the following information,
64k sim Operating Voltage: 2.7V to 5.5V; Frequency: 1MHz to 5MHz ...
