Considering the latest moves from Apple, effectively laughing out loud as they piss on the underwhelming response to Microsoft's Vista launch, I'm going to go out on a limb about what the rumoured Apple ad at this Sunday's SuperBowl will be.

I think it will almost certainly be Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard related. Probably the launch date announcement, but possibly a "available tommorrow" spot. (unlikely considering the rumours of it not being ready)
I don't buy the Beatles on iTunes Store or Beatles special edition iPod speculation, though I'd be really happy if it was a widescreen iphone-like ipod announced.

I'd like Leopard please. Better not be a new macbook pro - mine's arriving tomorrow. :o

Hahah isn't that always the case? Just after I bought my macbook pro they released the core 2 duo version.

I'm talking about my CD and not a C2D ... of course they both rock ... it's Apple afterall :D
And to think until this morning I was quite content with my powerbook. :o

Got to send that in for repairs now - the missus is happy though - I gave her 512mb of ram out of it for her iBook.

Seems the rumoured Apple ad was nothing more than that - a rumour.

Yep, nothing materialised. The rumour sites are already gearing up for a "big announcement" on Feb. 20th. Some of the ads were funny, but nothing spectacular. Way to many beer and coke ads.

May be a good thing. Don't want to load the CC with a Leopard upgrade at this stage. ;)
Already put Vista Upgrade on the back burner... My TV card's sound does not work under Vista on my Win PC and that has p*ssed me off totally.

Leopard is the only thing I want right now!

I'm with you on that Bwana... Apple have got a backlog of Mac announcements from MacWorld to make. The whispers of 2.66Ghz MBP's are resurfacing again. That +10.5 +iLife 07 + iWork 07 would be a good start.

If rumours are correct then iLife/iWork are going to require the new OS.

As for the 2.66 - well I've had my 2.33 for a week so I guess it's about time they made it obsolete.

Story of your like huh!:D
You going to give us a review? Its the 15" right?

No - they didnt have stock (and weren't going to until the 9th iirc) so had to go for the 17".

Kinda glad I did too. :o

the 17" is just too big to travel with for me, and with the FW800 in the 15", there really is no reason to get it. unless your're in love with the screen real-estate.
For me the keyboard on the 17" looks like its a little lost.

My powerbook is a 17" but the increased resolution on the macbook pro makes for an all together different viewing experience. The real-estate is nice to have - esp when it comes to apps like aperture :)

Or MS Project via Parallels ... can actually view the tasks and the Gantt Chart at the same time

One of the things that makes OmniPLan really nifty to use is that the task names are labels/tooltips on the gantt chart duration bars... it means that you don't constantly have to sroll around in the task bar, since you can easily see and edit task info in the inspector. Makes they whole process a whole lot friendlier.

Is This The Place?

Please boot me into touch, or pref another forum, but where/how do I sell a G3 (?) Quadra with OS8, hammer opti drive, agfa scanner, etc? Got it some years ago to learn 'Mac', but never did.
